RX8 VS Denali ?
A friend has an 01 Denali and is pretty confident that he can beat an RX8 although I am not into street racing I really want to show this guy.... he said he beat a 04 Civic Si and pulled on him crazy...

I think he'd totally tear you up in towing and load capacity. Don't even try man. He'll out tow and out haul you any day. You'll feel like a fool trying to put cinder blocks in your trunk. TRUST ME ON THIS...
Look at the specs (specifically, is his an auto or manual, is yours an auto or manual, then weight to power ratios). Look at the application. Denali has lots of torque but is high off the ground, can't handle well, and is heavy. He'll probably get you off the line, but throw in a few 90 degree turns and you'll catch back up.
Oh, BTW, Civic Si is not an RX-8.

I'm sick of this RX-8 vs. whatever. It's pissing me off. If you're going to compare this car with anything else, you obviously don't really love this car. Period. I've stopped comparing the RX-8 with other cars a long time ago. Either shape up or ship out. :p

man no matter what rx-8 is always going to be compared to something no matter how much you cry or whine about it. You cant help it. It's human nature to compare and dont hate on him just because he wants to know which car is faster. It's not like he is street racing, actually if we give him numbers and 0-60 times or quarter mile times, its alot better because then he wont have to go out and race it on the street and risk other ppls lives...
newayz i believe he'll pull first but then youll get him in 2nd gear

I got one to add: My friend has a 17.5 hp 42" Craftsman mower that he's very proud of. With the blades disengaged, he can pop a wheelie. He says he can take my 238 hp, 3000 lbs, RX-8. He thinks he can beat me because he was able to take a 21" push mower off the line. Do you think I can beat him???
------
Come on now. If you reread your post, it almost sounds like this one....

if you can drive worth a damn, you will win. I raced a GMC yukon with my '86 N/A FC and once I hit second I started pulling on him. I had a passenger in the car at the time. I think the denali is a mid 15 second truck. You had better win!
P.S. My FC was bone stock and pulled a 16.3 in the quarter.

Do we not know that there is much more to life than just "torque"?
