RE71R Questions

So this is my first real tire I've owned. Are there any special requirements I need to follow? Obviously I won't be driving these in the snow but what about cold weather? Can they be stored in below freezing temperatures? Still cold up here in the north east

I don't recommend cold storage.

Some tires like the Hankook R-S3 can be stored cold but must be warmed up before flexing. Others are ruined by sub-freezing temps. I keep mine stored in my basement.

I've been told that the wear increases quickly as tire temps go over 140°F so if you're competing, try to keep the temps below the 130-140 range.

In addition to the above: My brother has this tire on his summer wheel set and LOVES it, but hates driving on it when ambient temps are below like 50º F. He says it gets pretty scary when it's that cold. Ends up running his "winter" wheel set waaaay into spring and switching to it pretty early in fall just to avoid that scenario. FWIW.
