Thumbs up Mazda head office teck department

Spoke to peter from mazda australia technical division ,explained our concern re dyno test , showing a loss of power from that of the manufacturers specifications , he had not heard about this situation i gave him our forum address and he promised to look into the dyno mistery and try to sort some sense into the situation , i will be contacting him in a few days he will need this time to get through the post relating to performance of the rx8 .

Mazda japan ,and mazda australia should try and respond to the power situation as soon as possible as this is creating a lot of angui sh and indecision for a lot of people , id hate to see what would happen if some of the car jounalists would get a hold of this information and publish it ,it would be to the detrimant of MAZDA let alone the launch of the rx8.

Gee, what's a few kW between friends? There's all sorts of things that can affect these sorts of tests - they can be notoriously difficult to reproduce. There are all sorts of variables that can creep in. In my career as an industrial chemist, I know how difficult it is to reproduce results between test facilities, and that's only chemistry! Me? I'm just relaxing and enjoying my car. I've never been so happy about anything I've bought in my life.

Thumbs up

Labrat dont get me wrong i too am enjoying my new ride , and realise that there are variables in dyno results , i like to get what i pay for and if there is a 21kw loss of power i certainly am not getting the engine that mazda advertised and that won international engine of the year.

Having known that the mx5 was falsely given a higher power oupput by mazda , yes i am concerned and i believe that all who have purchased or are going to purchase have got the wright to get what you pay for , i hope that mazda clear these problems soon .
