Talking G'day from a new member!

Hello All,

Thought i would introduce myself. I took an RX8 for a test drive the other day at Newells in Sydney, and I must say im hooked!

I have been a fan of Mazda for a while now and have owned 2 MX5's (hence the forum name) One was a '91 1.6 with 67rwkw, the other a '94 Clubman turbo (absolute monster) with 160rwkw.

Needless to say the chassis balance, braking and general "vibe" of the car attracted me rather than outright power. Truth be known i'd happily have another MX5 however, practicaility is an issue and the '8 is the closest i can get with 4 seats.

I've seen some great knowledge on the forum here, and i can see we have a product champion in the form of Hymee who looks to be doing some top work (sidenote - Hymee, aside from the cat back system i presume you will be investigating a full system and maybe a CAI set up to go with the Piggyback?)

I have done some track driving with my MX5's and look forward to doing the same with the '8 once i get my mits on it! (towards the end of the year) Im looking forward to some supersprints at wakefield

Looks like a great forum and i look forward to being part of it....

Cheers
Rob

MS 2 RX,

Welcome! Always nice to get new members to this esteemed place.

Yep - a "front 1/2" exhaust is in the pipeline, but y'all have time to save up.

I haven't done much with the CIA, as I believe the stock one is very good.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Thanks for the welcome fellas....

Hymee - Re: CAI , I was thinking of adding some induction growl more so than any big power gain - 5hp or so i'd reckon. I'll be keen to see what Racing Beat come up with. :D

Ageo - im in Erskineville.

Takahashi - Yep, the HYMEE Cat back looks awesome. I'll be picking one up for sure, along with a HYMEE grill.

Hymee - whats the ordering process?

Cheers

Yes ... it is the hottest southern hemisphere RX8 exhaust. But I can't that Fujitsubo girl out of my head.

I might still get a Japanese exhaust coz I am so Japanese at heart.

Btw one of my jap friend marrying my best friend tomorrow

I've got the Rotary Extreme intake. I've had it since Christmas and it definately adds some induction growl. I actually took it out for a while because I thought it was too noisy on top of my Hymee Exhaust, but I have since found a way to quiet it down, so it's back in my '8. I'm very happy with it now.

Like Hymee said, the stock intake is very well designed, so power gains are minimal. Rotary extreme just did a second round of dyno runs and found and increase of 7-8 rwhp.

I'll be at the Sydney drive day in a few weeks so if you are there you can see and hear it for yourself.
