Exhaust

Hi,

Was wondering if you guys could help me please.
I am in the market for a Cat back exhaust.
I know there are a few out there like Hymee, Borla, GReddy etc.
The noise i want to achieve is something deep and drones nicely.
Not too loud idling, but once dumped a bit the noise kicks in nice and deep.
Can anyone advise me what is good and suitable, also who and where
in Australia they sell these Cat backs for RX8's.
Pricing i don't mind spending up to 1K for quality.

Many Thanks in advance

Up to 1K is a very tight budget, double it.

It is very hard to advise on sound.

Some for mine Fujitsubo

Also search in the rest of the site. There are many clips of various exhausts.

mmmm youd probably only get the GReddy or the HKS HiPower for that price

Both as loud as all hell

I say get the RE-Amemiya Super Dolphin!

You can muck about checking them all out. Several are good. However, if you want to buy local and get a quality product, buy the Hymee.

Gday mate.I tried a catback hi-tech exhaust and found it to be too hot and no performance gain(well 4kw on the dyno) so I changed it to one I have found to be much much better from a place called smb exhaust. Here is a link with the info- http://www.smb.net.au/fullexhaustsystems-mazdarx8.htm and here is a sound clip link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCI7DDu4aJ0 .Hope this is helpful..

Check out the Tanabe products. They're very nice 100% made in Japan. I'm running the Medalion Touring on mine. Its the quietest and smoothest product they make, but there are a few louder ones if you're keen on some noise. My one sounds virtually stock inside the cabin, but has a noticeably deeper rumble when i'm driving around, particularly at low speeds through parking lots etc.

www.raceinspired.com will ship the stuff to Australia, but you'll need to speak to them over the phone - they're very nice people. Mine was received within a week of them having the stock on hand. With today's exchange rates you'll get something great for about $1000-1200AUD even after you've factored in the expensive shipping costs.
