View Full Version : Which Edmonton Dealer is better? secrets 08-28-2003, 08:21 PM I have never been to a Mazda dealer before. So I'm wondering wich Edmonton Mazda has better service? Webers is the closest dealer to me, but I have yet to go to Sundance or Jarmans. Any advice?:) canzoomer 08-28-2003, 10:32 PM Sundance once had a GREAT service rep, but i hear the people who had that reputation left. It is the newest Edmonton dealer I believe, and they haved moved a few times. I hear not so good. Weber used to be VERY reputable, also have Mercedes, and used to have Volvo too. But, based on recent actions pretty mickey mouse. They actually destroyed my friends RX-8 the day they were supposed to deliver it. Ran it into a post in their garage. Jarman is not bad, did give me a fair price and service so far. Badly understaffed. Half the time you call the General Manager answers the phone! In general, though, the dealers all seem to be a bit clueless. Then there is one in Leduc (Frontier?), that some of the list members swear by. I have no experience with them, but it is worth checking out.. Evolv 08-28-2003, 11:20 PM Originally posted by canzoomer In general, though, the dealers all seem to be a bit clueless. This is a commom problem across all of Canada. I even over heard a pimple faced sales rep tell some customer that the RX-8 was more powerful and faster then any of the rx-7's. If I were a gambling man, I would bet that this rep never sat in an RX-7, 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen. SomberGuy 08-29-2003, 01:51 PM Regardless of which dealer you buy the car from, you can take your car to Webers, Jarman, or Sundance for your warranty and after warranty service. Whomever you choose. If you want my opinion, if you want any kind of Mazda service in Edmonton, Carl Modine is a Mazda Certified MASTER Technician (MASTER!), and was the first one in Canada. He runs his own Mazda service shop a couple blocks from Webers called "The Best of Mazdicare". You can read more about Carl at www.mazdamechanic.com. secrets 08-29-2003, 03:39 PM That's some sweet news. I was worried about finding someone knowledgeable on servicing rotoring engines/doing upgrade on. Sundance and Webers all had friendly sales staff when I visited. However they aren't too knowledgeable on technical aspects. canzoomer 08-29-2003, 04:25 PM I forgot one! There is a new dealer in Sherwood Park, called, strangely enough: Park Mazda I understand they have a black RX-8 in stock! That is not verified, only what a friend said. Carl has a very good rep. omong my RX-7 friends.. Still, with "free service" that is a moot point for most RX-8 owners at present.. SomberGuy 08-29-2003, 04:25 PM I'm pretty certain that Carl can perform your warranty service too. Evolv 08-29-2003, 06:34 PM Originally posted by canzoomer I forgot one! SomberGuy 08-30-2003, 10:22 AM There was a Yellow GT with a moonroof that arrived in Calgary on thursday. I don't know exactly which dealership though. wintermute 09-08-2003, 04:31 PM Originally posted by SomberGuy I'm pretty certain that Carl can perform your warranty service too. Warranty work can only be done at a mazda dealer!! As for taking your car to Carl well GOOD LUCK I would rather put a bullet in my head. canzoomer 09-08-2003, 11:45 PM I take it you had a bad experience? I can say that Jarman have been decent for me so far. Edmonton s/silv 09-14-2003, 08:32 PM Jarman has been good for me as well. I wonder if the mechanics had to take a special course. The mechanics were supposed to take a course. |
