Hey all! I just bought a new '06 rx8 less than a month ago and I noticed everytime I turn on the car and I put it into either Reverse or Drive it always makes this scraping sound when I give it gas. It sounds like there is a plastic flap hanging under the car and it is scraping on the ground when I start to drive it in either reverse or foward. It ONLY happens after I start it up. Another example of what it sounds like is... if you're pulling into a driveway and if the driveway is on too steep of an angle the underneath portion of the front of the car scrapes.

Has anyone else come across this?

there some abs checks that the car does when you first start it up, it only happens when you start moving... most people call it a "thunk" sound though. Does it keep making sound, or does it quit after it makes the sound?

 

It def. quits after it makes that sound.
So it's just ABS checks that it's doing?
