View Full Version : Bluetooth in the RX-8? TheColonel 08-01-2006, 09:37 PM Anybody ever added bluetooth to the 8 and what route did you go about to do it? I'm looking to make some big electronics upgrades in the coming year. zaglo6204 08-01-2006, 10:33 PM i've got a system made by raytel. it has a unit that sits between the seat heater switches & the center tunnel storage area with a display for settings, a green button (answer/send), & a red button (end/hang up); there's a microphone piece atop the a-pillar & a speaker that is mounted to the passenger's side of the center console/dash. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me. The microphone is located between the two lights above the inside mirror. Works just fine ! Huey52 08-04-2006, 07:25 AM I used to use a bluetooth cell earpiece, but my new Garmin c550 GPS has a built-in bluetooth cell interface. One touch dialing and earpiece free. Dagious 08-04-2006, 12:03 PM I took the same route as Shinka MD. If you buy the motorola IHF 1000, ~$200, then spen ~$50 to build the Jumper, it is a great add to the rx-8. I just get in the car and the unit tells me it is connected. If you have questions, just pm me. Chamberlin 08-06-2006, 02:52 PM Putting in a Car PC right now, and I have a bluetooth PMCIA card that slots in to my ITX motherboard... since I am fairly new to b-tooth (I have used my phone with an earpiece and linked to a friends handsfree kit, that's about it) I was wondering if anyone knows of a software package that will allow phone interaction through my touch screen etc.... thanks! -C RX8Tech 09-17-2006, 01:18 PM I like the Parrot kits too. Installs easily in the RX8 with an adapter called a QCMzF-1 with not a single wire to cut. See here www.parrotkits.com If you have the Bose option, I think they also have a no-cut adapter for that too but it is not listed on their website... Chamberlin 09-17-2006, 01:35 PM the phonecontrol software looks awesome, but it is turning out to be kinda of a nightmare to setup, and may not even work with my Sony S710a....but with PC you can bluetooth wardrive as well, if that's a concern...anyways I lost my HD, so I am starting over again...but the parrot might be the only realistic solution... anyways if you have a CarPc, check out phonecontrol.net -C |
