Dang I'm lucky. I have been changing between 5K and 7.5 k and I guess somewhat right in using a magnet on the oil filter to help "capture" some stuff(ever seen a filter cut open after a strong magnet has been on it a while?). Used to work well with recip engines and so I said what the hell and placed on my 8. Guess some people will have to question being so anal.:) So here we go again. Love this stuff. Better than crossword puzzles. Olddragger :D: Good stuff. I use a FilterMag on my filter ;) the SS-250. Strong magnets, still need to cut the used filter open to check it out. As I just changed the oil last night... Wear rate with the Amsoil looks really good, not too fond of the viscosity increasing though. At 14,000 miles the viscosity was a solid 15W40 from 5W30. olddragger 07-30-2006, 12:44 PM oil pressure gauge would come in a little handy in monitoring the oil viscosity as the readings would be differant. One very interesting quote that has me thinking is Engine wear actually decreases as oil ages. This has also been substantiated in testing conducted by Ford Motor Co. and ConocoPhillips, and reported in SAE Technical Paper 2003-01-3119. What this means is that compulsive oil changers are actually causing more engine wear than the people who let their engine's oil get some age on it. I know I am a compulsive oil changer.
