View Full Version : What i need: 4AT to 6AT theboy 07-26-2006, 05:48 AM i assume its just gear box and ECU. correct me if i am wrong. can someone help me out here, what i need to change my 4AT to 6AT? NgoRX8 07-26-2006, 05:52 AM 4 port engine to 6 port engine. Ericok 07-26-2006, 10:59 AM It's called a trade in. theboy 07-26-2006, 11:12 AM Oh damn. LostAngel 07-26-2006, 11:13 AM your car still will not be as fast as a real 6-speed....why? Because the automatics have a 4-port engine...you need a 6-port. zoom44 07-26-2006, 11:38 AM plus the whole CAN network sinc eyou will need the 6speeds TCM (transmission control module) which has the programming for the shifts. you'll need the whole network unless you can program CAN modules to talk to each other. yep trade it:) dupa12345 07-26-2006, 11:43 AM you need to add 2AT toxin440 07-26-2006, 01:19 PM easiest/cheapest way to get it? trade you car in. You already made the mistake of getting the 4AT and now you want more power? and have your eye on the 6AT? well 6 months down the line you will want to get a 6MT (like all the cool kids have, me included) Save yourself money and time and trade in for a 6MT you will not regret it. theboy 07-26-2006, 08:57 PM can't do that, my car used by everyone in the family, everyone drives auto. manual is not an option. Moostafa29 07-26-2006, 09:01 PM Just get a manual. If you can't drive one, it will be worth it to learn. theboy 07-26-2006, 09:04 PM i do agree, hehe but it will be a risk, cause my sister is a rackless driver, she might bang my car if we drive manual NgoRX8 07-26-2006, 09:05 PM trade in for an 06 AT... not a big upgrade for the cash though. Renesis_8 07-26-2006, 09:07 PM Your only option is to: Trade It In ________ Portable vaporizor review (http://vaporizerinfo.com/) Socr8tes 07-26-2006, 09:42 PM i do agree, hehe but it will be a risk, cause my sister is a rackless driver, she might bang my car if we drive manual No worries, even your car won't bang your sister if she has no rack. :lol2: therm8 07-26-2006, 10:04 PM easiest/cheapest way to get it? trade you car in. Seems to me like he wanted more gears...not necessarily more power (who actually believes the 215hp rating...anyone...Bueller...?). The cheapest way to get stock or better 6MT power levels and acceleration will be forced induction on the 4 port. Trade in value is extremely low, so you'd more than likely lose your ass in that deal. |
