View Full Version : Selling the rx-8 new job strk500 07-19-2006, 09:27 PM So i got a new job and i need a suv fun.... anyways how much do you think a 04 rx-8 with 14k miles sunroof, six speed, spoiler, and bose sound system should go for. thanks REV_ME_62 07-19-2006, 09:38 PM So i got a new job and i need a suv fun.... anyways how much do you think a 04 rx-8 with 14k miles sunroof, six speed, spoiler, and bose sound system should go for. thanks Suggested retail value according by KBB.com if in excellent condition is $24,005 with the specs you stated. Maybe more if you have package included with the car. Ex. Sport, Touring, and Grand package. Good luck with selling a most appreciated car. I am sure you'll get a significant offer for this one! :ylsuper: mysql101 07-19-2006, 09:56 PM I would say a realistic price is about 3k less than what REV_ME mentioned. Don't even bother going to carmax. They wanted to give me $17,000 for my 2004, GT, navi, etc. It had about 22,000 miles on it at the time. Razz1 07-19-2006, 09:57 PM What type of job needs an SUV, other than a forest ranger? 23k NgoRX8 07-19-2006, 10:04 PM some job to carry passengers around? maybe 5 guests or something? iono haha good luck selling. you're probably only going to get rid of it for... around 21k. there's too many 8s out there at the dealer right now. StewyRX8 07-20-2006, 02:18 AM What type of job needs an SUV, other than a forest ranger? 23k LOL, soccer moms need them, they almost hit me everyday. BlueSky 07-20-2006, 02:23 AM imagine the pain going from a 8 to an SUV. I think I'd rather walk. Stavesacre21 07-20-2006, 02:44 AM I love my 8 to death, but if you're trying to get rid of one at the moment, prepare to take a substancial loss as opposed to what KBB tells you. I went through some buyer's remorse about a week after buying my 05 new, and I found out that the best offer I could get was almost $4K less then the KBB price. As others have mentioned, with dealers cutting prices down into the deep $22-24K range...you'll have a lot to compete with. I wouldn't think it's too absurd to ask about $22,000 to start negotiating. strk500 07-20-2006, 06:10 AM I was thinking 20K, i got a new job as a electrician and might have to drive on unpaved surefaces and a long trip in the winter in the snow might be kind of scary in a rx-8... nothing is to final yet tho i might get a 96 blazer and keep the car. or get a 04 blazer and get ride of my car. I just don't want to get rid of it lol. Aseras 07-20-2006, 07:30 AM well considering you can buy a new rx8 for 4K under invoice easy.. used is not worth it unless you get a really good deal... which means someone like you took it in the ass. "Shanika" 07-20-2006, 08:22 AM "..or get an 04 blazer." Why? Cool-Blue-Dad 07-20-2006, 09:39 AM So i got a new job and i need a suv fun.... anyways how much do you think a 04 rx-8 with 14k miles sunroof, six speed, spoiler, and bose sound system should go for. thanksIf you can afford it I'd say get the 2nd car - both will last longer if you split your driving between them. Plus, you'll have a back-up in case one or the other is in the shop. At least you could *get* to work without dealing with rental hassles. You'll never get as much value as you want when you sell your RX-8. Buyers of used RX-8s seem to always be thrilled. Sellers of used (or even new) RX-8s seem to think life sucks. ;) captain mercury 07-20-2006, 11:36 AM i agree, get the older blazer and keep the rx-8 around if you have room for it. strk500 07-23-2006, 09:59 PM Do u guys think the car would sell if i put it up for sale at 19,900? Decided to get just one car  . O well i'll just buy another one in a few years. PerformRX-8 07-23-2006, 10:08 PM imagine the pain going from a 8 to an SUV. I think I'd rather walk. not if its from an 8 to lets say a Range Rover or a Porcshe Cayenne Turbo  strk500 07-23-2006, 10:16 PM its not tho lol its a trailblazer..... o well have to have a car that works to make money so i can buy a 8 again in the near future HAHA. Aratinga 07-24-2006, 12:21 AM I just sold my '04 Touring package (which is what yours sounds like) with same mileage as yours for $18,000. I'm in Southern California, though; where you are (wherever that is) the used RX-8 market might be different. |
