Hey Folks!
Just curious as to whether someone has actually installed the front air dam themselves.
If so, was it difficult? How much time did it take?
Thanks in advance!

Good question. I would also like to know about installing the fender strakes, front and rear splash guards, and rotary accents since I'm having to order these all myself. I want to install as much as I can myself to save installation costs.

I have installed the strakes and exhaust finishers and both are no problem at all. If I can do it, anyone can!

I installed the strakes and mud flaps myself, front and rear, and it was simple enough. The instructions walk you thru and you should not have any problems with that. I have a GT, which supposedly has this plastic stone guard running across the bottom of the 8. You need to cut about 6 inches of this plastic stone guard off in order to successfully install the front mud flaps...other than that, simple stuff.

Those and the rotary accents are the ones I figured I could do myself. It's the front air dam and the wing that I'm iffy on. I assume the wing involves drilling holes and I'm not confident enough to do that to my baby. I could be wrong about that, of course.

I should have taken some pics of the process so i could post, but I was too anxious too put these peices on, & well....I just forgot...sorry, next time I will. As far as the front air dam, it might require soome drilling, but the spoiler for sure would need that and I don't trust myself enough to do that...
As far as pics of the mud flaps, there is a thread with the subject "Another Titanium RX-8 hits the streets" that has pics of an 8 with the mud flaps on it already. Nice IMO.
How do you attach the other threads on this reply?
