Nemesis8 04-08-2006, 06:03 PM Un-connect the battery and step on the brake pedall a few times.
swoope 04-08-2006, 06:16 PM yea,
saw that. will give it a shot.

Brice-RX8 04-08-2006, 06:30 PM Yea disconnect the battery. I have never seen a car where holding the trip button did more than just diagnostics, thus I think the whole "reset the computer by holding the trip button" is just a myth.
swoope 04-08-2006, 07:53 PM thanks guys.
it worked i just wonder why the other way does not. i am having some weird problems that i am trying to get sorted.
nemesis, are you running a scanlizer????

StealthTL 04-08-2006, 08:44 PM Try taking out the top 10Amp fuse in the front fusebox, marked ECU.
Haven't tried it myself, but should work.....

do me a favor next time you are out running around town in the rain... maybe a little stop and go and some highway. could you let me know what the h20 temps run.
also as a 70 mph cruise what the maf reads ~.
btw. the beta 2.1 i think it is allows 9 gauges.

Nemesis8 04-10-2006, 08:20 PM Looks like coolant was 179F cruising at 70 MPH. Temps swing to 184F in town, and hit 208F before the thing started cooling down. Outside temp was 60F and inlet air temp was 68F. As for the MAF reading at almost 70 MPH on cruise control, looks like 38.62 grams/sec.

MazdaManiac 04-10-2006, 09:05 PM Wow, your cars run hot.
Even after fairly "spirited" driving at +80°F ambient temps, my water temps seldom get over 195°F.
Nemesis8 04-10-2006, 10:15 PM Yep - scares the hell out of me. I'm ready to change something.

this has something to do with the ltft ? i have asked you in the past.
beers
Nemesis8 04-10-2006, 10:26 PM No power loss at all - chirps tires in 2nd and 3rd. My LTFT is 5.5% right now. It pretty much stays right there.

MazdaManiac 04-11-2006, 02:22 PM I've hit 210° or so if I idle for long periods of time at ambients over 90°.
You can see 225° or higher and still be alright since the coolant pressure is so high.
You just aren't making peak power and are closer to the knock point.
LTFT probably won't be affected much by your coolant temp, though it might figure into the temp control strategy. I dunno.
