Mazda is offering a 24 mo. lease on a 2006 RX-8 for $299/mo. with $2600 due at signing. I've got some questions you maby be able to help me with:
1. Is this negotiable?
2. The deal applies to the base model. What if I want to add some options?
Thanks

anybody have a guess on what the payments would be for a 36 month term instead of 24?

More for 36 months. The 24 is a special deal. I'm trying to get into another 24 month lease at the end of the month.

The $299 is a starting price. The car really doesn't exist as even base RX-8's usually have an option or 2 built in. Spoiler, appearance package. But it IS, a good gauge to start with on a stripped model. Usually this gauge with a Shinka brought the $$ up to $580 a month FYI. All negotiable of course but these are the brackets. Assume around $380 for one you can live with.

I could live with the base model + the Mazdaspeed body pieces, just to get that residual at the end of two years! That's a better deal than buying the darn thing from the start!

As far as I know, the lease money factor on the 24 month lease is 0.0020 and on 36month lease is 0.0028. Residual on the 24 month is 62% from MSRP.

Not if you buy a leftover 05 for 20.5+TTL. I paid 22 OTD for mine and the MSRP was right around 30K. I plan on driving it for 3 years then sell it for a little more than half of original MSRP when it has 35K or so miles on it. I think it's reasonable to be able to only suffer 14-15K of depreciation in only 3 years.

I just took advantage of that lease deal from mazdas website. One major downfall to the lease is that on top of the $2600 down, you need "tax title and fees" which was about $900 for me, this part was negotiable, not the tax though. I got a lease for $327/month with a base 6 speed with sport package. I put down less than the $2600 plus $900. You are able to roll over any down payment beyond the $2600 down into your monthly payment. I did not ask if you could extend the lease time frame to 36 months. Hope that helps

Arg!
(*) The Amount due at Lease Signing is higher in the following states: Connecticut ($3,247); Massachusetts ($3,344); Rhode Island ($3,409); Virginia ($2,988); and West Virginia ($3,004).
Someone want to tell me why it's an extra $600 just because I live in Connecticut? :(

Anyone know if the lease deal has changed for the month of June?

I did this with my '05 a year ago. I ended up paying about $405 a month, which when you run the numbers is just about the basement payment on this lease (unless you find a way to negotiate it lower.) I have the base model with no options except 6-speed. If you shop around, especially on the internet, you might find a dealer who will give you that price with little hassle. Also if you can find a leftover '05 you can buy the car for cheap.

What is the best place to search for left over '05's. M-USA site checks by zipcode and in CO the dealers are jerkoffs that will not sell for much under MSRP on the '05's (the best I could get was $1500 under MSRP) for some reason! Besides I would like the GT with Nav if I can find one . . . I don't mind flying out to pick it up!
