View Full Version : is the dealer lying to me?
W1CK3Dninja 04-05-2006, 08:20 PM i bought my 8 used about 2 weeks ago and i already had service done to it. anyway, my dealer said that my warranty will expire this november. it is an 04 purchased on nov. 8th 2003. isn't the standard warranty 4 years, 50k miles? he told me that it is 3yrs 50k miles. what do you think? i thought i would expire nov of 07.
expo1 04-05-2006, 08:40 PM YES, it is 48 Months / 50,000 Miles

beachdog 04-05-2006, 08:53 PM time to find another dealer
NoTears316 04-05-2006, 08:57 PM That is pretty weak... some dealers really do suck.
W1CK3Dninja 04-05-2006, 09:00 PM ok cool i will report that dealership. i just don't wanna be wrong. keep in mind my vehicle was purchased in 03 i just thought maybe they changed it to 48months in 04 or something. but thanks guys.
Dogpound48 04-05-2006, 09:48 PM I thought they did change it after the whole hp thing?
LiveBlues 04-05-2006, 10:09 PM As to the question in your title line. Are his lips moving? If so, then the answer is yes.
msrecant 04-05-2006, 10:24 PM I bought my RX-8 in July of 2003. It has a 48 month, 50K warranty.
RotoRocket 04-05-2006, 10:25 PM Dealers are the scum of the earth.
Salespeople are just trying to make a living, though, so I especially feel for the ones who work under slimeball sales managers.

haha, i thought the same thing. i saw the thread title and i immediately thought "yes".
Elara 04-06-2006, 11:38 AM How many miles does it have? I WISH mine would last till next year, but I just had my 45k service done and will probably hit 50k in the next three months, so bye-bye warranty.
dmc27 04-06-2006, 02:28 PM Why doesn't anyone like dealerships? Every place I went to a nice man with a forked tongue told me they would be "giving this car away today" . . .
stickman 04-07-2006, 06:44 PM If the dealer's lips are moving, he is lying.

i have 21k miles. i'm definitly not worried about the mileage, if anything i would like to add years to my warranty, not miles.
RX-Aight 04-08-2006, 07:22 AM A dealer lying? no way... "it depends on what your definition of lying is..."
jryeater 04-08-2006, 04:03 PM yes the warranty from the factory is 4/50. i did get the 6yr 100k warranty, i had to pay a whopping $2200 for it and a $499 one time fee for unlimited oil changes for life of the car. i didnt want something to happen like what happened to my 01 330i. After having it for two weeks the presume place had a malfunction which caused the clutch to do out, and since it was within the 30 day period here in WA, the dealer is responsible. they didnt want to pay for it. So yeah, hello RX-8!
