New Fuel Economy Standards for Trucks/SUV's

whats not mentioned here is that the improvements that the automakers will have to make to meet these new standards will likely mean the vehicles will exceed these standards. Some of these SUV's will need more than a better airfilter to hit these numbers. I feel direct injection and full electric acessories coming soon.
On a side note, if that decide to change the EPA testing procedure, this could get even more interesting.

This is good news. Although they are well on their way anyway with things like electric hybrid, cylinder deactivation, and E85 capable vehicles. EPA procedures should be looked at IMO.

Remember the Cadillace 4,6,8 back in the late 70's to early 80's. It was a disaster then because computer technology had not evolved to the point it is now. I think cylinder deactivation is returning with zeal.
