I drive the car all year round.
How often do those that do wax there cars every year?

I've never waxed a car before, so I don't know what is a good number.
Once or twice a year? Once a month? One every couple weeks?

The warm season is approaching so I thought I'd give it a try.
With the Canadian winters, do we have to wax the car more than others?

 

Once a month. Get good wax. I like NXT.

 

I wax like 10x in summer, none in winter.

 

Spring and summer, thats it!

 

4-5times in the summer ... gotta use up the current wax before buying Zaino

 

How often you wax the finish depends on the conditions in which you park, drive, and live. Basically, the harsher the elements the finish is exposed to, the more you're going to want to protect the finish. Wash the car carefully and look at the finish - does the shine have the same showroom glow? It probably will, with a good wash, and will continue to do so reasonable for about 6-8 months after delivery (assuming it hasn't sat on the lot for a year before).

You can read whatever and wherever about what the 'best' wax is - but since you've never done it before, and want to do it yourself, pick something simple to apply (and polish/remove) and give yourself plenty of time to figure out the technique.

whenever i have **** all to do.. but mostly in the summer and once in the winter..

 

well if you are TLOVR, you wax your car every 22 mins.

 

You know, If I had a silver car....I'd never wax it because it's only a matter of time before someone hits it anyway

 

i've only done it once.. and that was a few weeks ago..

One of the things I noticed was the smell. I could smell burning wax for about a week after applying it.. lol.. Is that normal?

once every other wash ... i'm a freak

 

Twice a year, Spring, and Fall.

Bumper to bumper clay bar, and NXT wax.

Also the interior is done with MGuire's vinyl cleaner/protector.

 

too often........ once a week with quick detail and spray wax from meguiar, and once a month i give the full treatment=paint cleaner, polish, and wax.

 

Funny. I wax once a month and almost every time I drive away, I get bird **** all over. Birds must love the red color.
