View Full Version : ABQ Church Autocross
txag98 03-29-2006, 04:51 PM Had a lot of fun on the drive to Santa Fe last weekend... I figure I should start a new thread regarding the church auto-x that's coming up this Saturday. Several people have expressed intrest.
It'll be at Hope Evangelical Church which is on Juan Tabo about 2 blocks north of Montgomery.
Directions (MapQuest) (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=US&addtohistory=&searchtype=address&cat=&address=4710%20Juan%20Tabo%20Blvd%20Ne&city=Albuquerque&state=NM&zipcode=87111%2d2629&search=%20%20Search%20%20&searchtab=address)
It goes from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. I'll be getting there around 5:00 to help set up the cones, etc. It's free of charge and pretty informal, just for fun!
Here's the link to the web page that they've got up at the church (church's website) (http://www.hopeevfree.com/events/arta/index.htm) I have done some html hacking and have a website ready to go that could replace that one and provide better info (I want to post times post-race, pictures, etc.). Hopefully I can get that up on their site reasonably soon.
I snooped around on racingsouthwest.com (http://www.racingsouthwest.com) and found a few links regarding races last summer/fall ... one guy posted some videos of his attempts. lol. Here's the links if anyone's interested:
Post #1 (http://www.racingsouthwest.com/forums/showtopic27689.htm)
Post #2 (May '05) (http://racingsouthwest.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15796)

videos from cadillac and buick (http://racingsouthwest.com/forums/showtopic21462.htm)
I wasn't at the one where the videos were made... looks like they had it set up as a figure-8 that time because there was some construction going on and a lot of the parking lot was occupied by equipment, etc. The parking lot is fully open now and even extended a bit, so hopefully we'll get something more fun than a figure-8 set up on Saturday.
I hope to see some rotaries out there... should be fun.
stinger 04-01-2006, 10:31 AM what about the weather txag98? There is a prediction of 40% chance of rain today from the national weather service. Is the church still going to hold the autoX? I would hate to drive all the way in this evening and find out it has been cancled. If you can find out I would appreciate it!
txag98 04-02-2006, 11:58 AM Hey Stinger, glad to see you and Kewl out there last night. Sorry I didn't see your post yesterday about the weather. I was hardly home all day and never really had a chance to check the forum.
We ended up having about 37 different cars and 78 total races through... not a bad night. There were a couple of things to work out with the new setup since the parking lot changed from last year.
Your times were 52.01 and 51.07+1 penalty ... the best time overall was a yellow CRX who got 43.53 and the worst was a Gallant with 61.71. An interesting note, you had the most consistency if you factor in the cone penalty with a .04 difference between your two runs :D:
I'll get all the results put into HTML and try and get them up on the website in the next week or so... I'll post a note here when that's up.
A bit of excitement at the end when we were picking up cones... my father-in-law ran over my foot in his truck. :banghead:
txaq98....is your foot, ok? Steel toe shoes are in order even there I guess..
Sorry I didn't get to talk with you before leaving, but you were busy..
I was impressed at the turnout and the variety of cars that participated. The station wagon was a riot...and it did well and even the Mercedes did well all things considered. We will have to see if we can't get more 7's and 8's at next months run.
txag98 04-02-2006, 06:13 PM Yeah, my foot's ok... no bruising or anything. I didn't have steel toed shoes, but they are pretty sturdy so that helped a good bit. Also, it was the rear tire on his pickup so that probably helped some. The funny thing was I yelled when the tire went over my foot and he heard that and stopped.... right on top of the foot. So, I was standing there yelling GO! GO! GO! but his window was up so he couldn't hear what I was saying too well so he got out, then he saw what was happening and jumped back into the truck really fast and pulled forward. All told, the truck was sitting on my foot for maybe 15-20 seconds (though it seemed longer).
I was a little surprised to see so many people there this time, usually it seems like the first one of the year has been less attended. I was impressed with that mercedes guy, that was a big car with a really long wheelbase, especially at that tight back-corner turn. The guy in the wagon plowed around the course surprisingly fast.
It'll be cool to see if some other rotaries can make it out next month... the next one is scheduled currently for the first Saturday of May (May 6th).
MadDog 04-02-2006, 08:01 PM Now that I'm back in town I'll make plans to attend. I didn't know it was a monthly deal. Cool....
stinger 04-02-2006, 09:35 PM Thanks for the info on my times txag! Sorry to hear about your foot, I actualy can identify with it all to closely. The guy in the subaru legacy definatly was a riot. I am planning on attending again in may as well. One of the people ther was taking pictures of the cars and was going to post it on RacingSouthwest and while there this morning I also noticed that Sandia Motor Speedway was having on firdays open track days here is the link to the times and fees
http://racingsouthwest.com/forums/showtopic27458.htm
I want you and your farther-in-law to know I really appreciate the effort that you guys have put into doing this autoX. It was a BLAST!!!!!!!
txag98 04-11-2006, 01:30 PM Wohoo, the webmaster finally got the info up on the website for the results... here's the link to the website:
http://www.hopeevfree.com/events/arta/index.htm
I think it looks pretty good... you can also view the results sorted by either car identifier or by the best times. It was cool to see so many people come out. Hope to see more out there in May.
txag98 05-03-2006, 12:47 PM thought I'd give this a bump... The May auto-x is scheduled for this Saturday at 7:00 PM.
txag98 05-14-2006, 09:13 AM The results are posted on the website for the autocross last week on May 6th. Good to see more RX-8's run this month. Hopefully next time I'll do better than this time. I do have to say, after only having the car for about 2 months now I was really impressed with how nimble it felt through the turns. The '02 Audi A4 I had, which was no slouch, felt like a tank compared to the 8.

NMOcho 06-08-2006, 04:41 PM When the June 3 times going to be posted? :ylsuper:
Any recent words on the July 4th event. Still on?
NMOcho 06-27-2006, 02:37 PM So How is this weekend looking for the event? You have enough helpers, ect.?
stinger 06-27-2006, 04:10 PM Ocho I beleive that the event was actualy going to be on Tuesfay the 4th. I have not heard if it is still on though!
On a side bar I talked to Tom from Rotary RX and the Bar-B-Que is set to be on the 8th of July. He was need response from people if they were going to go so he would know on how much food to get for everyone. I am going to post in the NM thread as well. So if any of you plan on going give him a call as soon as you can.
MadDog 06-28-2006, 02:02 PM CRAP! I'm going to be out of town on the 8th!!
NMOcho 06-28-2006, 03:18 PM Double CRAP! I'm closing on my house the 7th and moving in that weekend. But I will see what I can do...
MadDog you want me to take your 8 to the BBQ for you?
LOL....I know
MadDog 06-29-2006, 01:45 PM The church website says the autox is canceled - because of the holiday. That's weird. If that's an issue, why schedule it for that day in the first place?
NMOcho 06-29-2006, 01:57 PM I believe Will said one of the organizers was out of town. So they were lacking man hours and event organizer. That's why I thought this Saturday would be better than the actually night of the 4th. Most people would rather be with families than out racing there cars. O well. Guess have to look to the August event.
Actually need to buy a helmet and get to the bigger Santa Fe Auto X runs. I really want to make it to the BBQ but think I will be far too busy. Have to check with my agent for timeline update. I’m little disappointed that Mike with the really nice White RX-8 hasn’t stopped by the forum. I ran into him again the other night. You all would appreciate the work he has put in it. I like all the rain but my car looks like crap… Well I will get is contact info next time. Chow for now… Justin
txag98 06-29-2006, 05:15 PM Cross Linkage... (http://racingsouthwest.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=27689&view=findpost&p=491072)
Yeah, unfortunately I decided to go ahead and call things off due to a lack of manpower. NMOcho was right, Dudley's out of town getting flight training... he'll be moving in to the co-pilot's seat for the 747's he flies soon :ylsuper:
I called the people who generally help out a lot and pretty much everyone is either out of town or at a family BBQ so there really weren't enough people to make sure things stay safe.
I don't know for sure... but I think the rationale for trying for the 4th was because there's a big theatre production starting its run on the 7th of July which will make the parking lot unavailable for races. This weekend was kind of out because I think there was something going on which had the parking lot in use.... maybe they're in final prep for the production or something... I dunno.
Anyhow, we'll be back for the first Saturday in August.
Oh, if anyone's interested in the play... more info can be found at clicky (http://http://www.hopeevfree.com/events/fct/index.htm)
I guess this just means that we're going to have to get off our duffs sometime in July and have a drive this month! Anybody have any ideas?
stinger 06-29-2006, 05:15 PM Good luck on the move Justin! I hope all goes well for you and there is no broken items to contend with in the end. Are you going to be moving into town or further out in the boonies? Well maybe I will see you at the BBQ anyway!
txag98 06-29-2006, 05:19 PM I like all the rain but my car looks like crap...
No kidding! We really really need the rain, but black cars and new mexico rain really don't go together that well. Guess I know what I'll be doing Saturday morning :-p
txag98 09-03-2006, 05:55 PM FYI...
KKOB web article on the auto-x (http://www.kobtv.com/index.cfm?viewer=storyviewer&id=27643&cat=NMTOPSTORIES)
I didn't get to see the news broadcast last night, but I generally heard the feedback was more positive than negative. The writeup on the web seems (at least to me) to be focusing on the neighbor's claim that it's an out-of-control event.
Anyways, they do have a place on the web with this story to offer feedback... might be a good place to have some of the enthusiast community to give positive feedback :-)
stinger 09-04-2006, 08:39 AM This is what I posted on KOB's Feedback4.
I am one of the racers that participate at the Hope Evangelical Free Church near Juan Tabo and Montgomery. This is a very positive thing that the church is doing for the youth and the race enthusiast’s of the city. They are giving the youth of Albuquerque and the surrounding areas an option to take their cars out and race them in a safe environment. I am a 40 yr old father of 2 daughters that I take to the event with me every Saturday night. They both look forward to the event as it approaches every month. I also help the organizers from Hope Evangelical Free Church with the layout of the course; the course is looked at before each and every event to provide the optimum fun for the participants, as well as safety of the event. Purposely the course is laid out so no one is able to go faster than 35 MPH. By providing the youth this option to race here at the church, Hope Evangelical has drawn 30-42 (42 cars registered for the event on 09/02/06) off of the city streets that otherwise would have been racing on them, which in turn may have prevented a needless and senseless death. There is no real outlet for these youth in Albuquerque. If the Mayor and the City Council are really concerned about this city maybe they should take a look at the youth and address their needs. In stead of a High dollar arena or a study on weather to put a trolley transit system on Central Blvd., maybe the city should take one of the many vacant lots around town and pave it so events like this could be held. After your interviews on Saturday evening and talking to some of the participants that were there, they stated resoundingly “Well I guess we will have to go back to racing on the streets again”. No matter what happens here the youth will continue to race their cars be it on city streets or in a parking lot such as Hope Evangelical Free Church has provided. Where would you rather they do the racing?

MiniMeg 09-17-2006, 12:10 AM Hi,
We live close enough to hear the cars run at night, sometimes. But from what we can see is that they built a new building where they ran the cars. So where do they run now? The next envent is on 10/7/06 if we are in town that weekend I could help set-up cones. If you need the help? PM me if you care to.
Oh, sorry this is off topic. Does anyone in NM have any RX-8 OEM 18" wheels for sale? Again I'm sorry to ask on this tread but I have been looking on Classifides and can't find any.

It's in the same parking lot as in years past, but the parking lot did grow a bit with the new construction. It's a little longer than before :-)
We always have room for help if you're interested... the normal events start at 7:00 and we get there close to 5:00 to start setting up. We can always use extra help :-D

Cool I should be there? Who do I ask for or just stand there and look like I'm lost? I will be the one in the white MX-5. I think my lovey wife is going out of town that weekend. Just think it's are anniversary too. So do the adults go out afterwards for some food and or beverages?

I've got a couple with a little curb rash on them.
stinger 09-25-2006, 04:12 PM The times are posted @ the church's web site. I feel pretty good about my first run  :ylsuper: !! It placed me 9th fastest time over all !!! Considering that 5 of the other top 9 times are from people who regularly compete in SCCA Auto X's regularly that is not to bad!

That was a good run... It was to bad I was out of town (I could have beat your time).. LOL  ... Lot of cars showed up. I will do my best to make it out to the Oct. run... Then I have to switch to my winter tires.
So who all thinks they can make it out to the next Auto X?
txag98 09-26-2006, 02:37 PM linkage (http://www.hopeevfree.com/events/arta/2006-09/sept-02-06.htm)
Hmmm, the next one is coming up pretty soon... gonna have to start thinking about what I want to do with the track...
stinger 09-26-2006, 04:29 PM I am planning on attending it! With my lead foot in tow!!
Hey txag as for the track I loved it and I am not to sure if you can improve on it at all. It was tight and yet it had some open runs where you could build up some speed. That is if you want to call 27mph speed. It is probably the best track layout so far this year.
txag98 09-27-2006, 04:56 PM Hehe... I might try and see what I can come up with... I thought about seeing if there is something that could be done in that back corner which was closed off this last time due to that erosion problem, but that corner gets really dark, so I think we might just do something similar to last time. I'll have to toy around with it and see what I can do :-D
One thing that I was a little bummed about this last time was that the track was slower so we didn't get as many runs in as normally, but I think it still looked pretty cool.
Oh, BTW, I noticed on my drive into work today that there is a yellow RX-8 for sale at that used car lot at Lomas and Wyoming... The sticker on the windshield said $400/mo (no idea for how long)... will have to see how long the car sits there :-(
NMOcho 09-28-2006, 02:25 PM Well, today on my way to work I got a giant nail in the sidewall of my tire.. Discount tires has to order my tire for free replacement, so I have a loaner tire on now... Which is a 225 not a 245.. so my car pulls like a son of a B#$# and I might not get the new one before next race... ughh..... Enough to piss of the pope...
txag98 09-30-2006, 11:28 AM I just realized the other day that I have a wedding to attend on Oct. 7th (the evening of the auto-x)... my wife is an attendant so I'll be at that instead of the auto-x this month. Kind of bummed but oh well...
If anyone is interested in helping out this month with the auto-x, I can get you Dudley's contact info.

zeblien 10-01-2006, 07:05 PM Hay will, think you can install that turbo before this autoX?
SikRedRX-8 10-02-2006, 04:41 PM I think I can make the Oct. 7 runs.
Chakara 10-05-2006, 12:35 AM I'm gonna try to get over there. Should be back from Trinity site by then. (PS: it is open Saturday).
I've never raced anything so not sure if I'll compete at this point, but looking forward to checking it out.
Chakara, this really isn't a race. You drive the track at your own pace, by yourself, to see what kind of time you can run the course in. You are allowed one practice lap to see what the track layout is and then you run two laps for time. For the RX8's none of us ever get out of first gear, so you are never really going very fast. But you will certainly think otherwise while on the track.
NMOcho had the scanner connected for one of his runs and while I can't remember the speed, his highest RPM was around 7,000...in first gear of course.
Don't let the idea of competing with someone keep you from coming out...you really aren't competing with anyone except yourself. Hope to see you there!!

I think the fastest that he got going was 27 or 29 MPH. It is a lot of FUN :ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper: Chakara you will enjoy it!
NMOcho 10-05-2006, 06:28 PM Yes.. I got my new tire... but it grips really well so wont get to slide around the corners as much.. but I can't wait to race... especially since I missed last months.
Kewl and Stinger are correct. I hit about 7000rpm's and about 27 or 29 mph... and no pressure to be crazy.. it's really about fun and enjoying the night.
be great for as many 8's to come out... come on Maddog... ready to hear some more stories of you getting the 8 some street respect...
Chakara 10-05-2006, 11:48 PM Just wait, I could land slower than that '75 DeVille from last week!
The day is looking a bit crazy, but I hope to be there and meet a few of you guys.
Rx8member 10-07-2006, 11:37 PM Well great fun it was. It was my first time doing this and it was a blast. My best run was a 51.44 but nextime I will get that lower. I heard they arnt doing it again untill april is this right?
-zeblien (sorry mods, restrictive posting only I promise)
Chakara 10-08-2006, 12:47 AM Great time! Not only the racing but puting faces to all the guys around here. My times got better by a second or 2 on each run - ending around 48.xx - not bad for having never done anything like this before.
I hope to be able to put names with faces - I'm not real good at that so bear with me.

It was great meeting you & your wife as well Chakara!!! I am glad to see that you did make it out there and that you had fun! Good job on bringing down your lap times!
The same goes for you too Rx8member! Nice to see you out there as well!
It is a shame that this was the last church event for the year though. Just ad every one was starting to have all kinds of fun. Txag will have to keep us apprised of when & if the AutoX will return next year.
Once again it was great seeing and meeting all of you last night!!
MiniMeg 10-08-2006, 05:13 PM Hey all,
Thanks for inviting me to the event. It brought back memorys from the old days. I meet a member that has a new Shinka w/ an automatic. I just want to know if anyone knows who he is? Why I want to measure his front sway bar. I know everyone is aking why. Just need to see if all automatic trans. 8's have the same susp.. Can someone PM me with his info?
Thanks
JFroTurbo 10-08-2006, 06:55 PM hello everyone.. i had a great time.. lots of fun.. kinda sucks that this will not start up again untill next year but o well... and it was great to see everyone doing well.. i will see you all laterz
stinger 10-08-2006, 10:43 PM hello everyone.. i had a great time.. lots of fun.. kinda sucks that this will not start up again untill next year but o well... and it was great to see everyone doing well.. i will see you all laterz
It was great to see you there as well JFro! Hopefully you will make it there again next year!!
NMOcho 10-09-2006, 12:00 PM Hey all, great time Saturday... Glad I pulled the best time of the 8's and compared to most cars of the night with a 47.55. I had to brag a little for all my hard work... LOL... I pulled 48.xx first two times if I didn't hit the two cones. But I think the 8's earned some respect Saturday.. all of us ran some great times.. Some of those racers have a couple thousand in suspension and years of racing.
It's a shame more 8's couldn't come out.. but we still had 5 show.. and if Will would have been there then 6..
Great meeting you Kyle... it is a bummer that this was the last one of the year... that means we have to all meet soon for another drive or hell even just for some drinks and food ...
Chakara 10-11-2006, 12:20 AM Thanks. Drinks, food and drives are all good. Just name the place/time....
Rx8member 10-11-2006, 02:15 PM I suggested that earlier. We could try to meet on a friday at a resteraunt for food and drinks. I think most people are near the Base, but that means we cant have fun driving there together. Im suggesting Papa Doux (?). Great Seafood.
NMOcho 10-16-2006, 12:50 PM Hey Will,
When can we expect to see Race times. :)
JFroTurbo 10-18-2006, 10:56 AM that sounds like a good idea.. I wanted to try that place Papa Doux
NMOcho 10-18-2006, 12:56 PM Hey all,

Zeblien is the owner of the car... His name is Eric.
txag98 10-22-2006, 04:48 PM Hey Ocho, I've got the race times into my spreadsheet... have been a bit of a slacker in getting them over to the webmaster to be posted. Have been a bit unusually busy lately :-/
I'll get that emailed out to the webmaster tonight and hopefully she'll have it all posted in a couple of days :-D

Hey txag were they still going to post the time results from the last AutoX event in October?
txag98 12-07-2006, 12:29 PM Heya Stinger,
Yeah, the results should get posted before too long. Man, it's scary how big the delay has been on this one. Pretty much things have just been crazy and I finally just sent the raw spreadsheet to the webmaster... hate to burden her with having to manually punch in all that stuff, but I just don't see when I'll have the time :-(
Too much chaos in the past few months to really list it all, but we've definitely had a rollercoaster the last few. Looks like we're finally going to be coming up for air though soon. Any get-togethers / drives planned anytime soon?
Chakara 04-20-2007, 09:11 PM Hey guys, for those that don't know, the first event of the year is tomorrow. Hope to see some of you there - warming up for next weekend!
LINK (http://hopeevfree.com/events/arta/)
I should have known it was tomorrow....rain is in the forecast...it had to be tomorrow!
txag98 04-22-2007, 10:30 AM How did the auto-x go last night?
NMOcho 04-23-2007, 05:09 PM How did the auto-x go last night?
It was fun minus the little bit of rain and cold. :) only two 8's total there :(.
Left early for some beer and food..
txag98 04-24-2007, 09:23 PM Sad to see so few 8's come out. I wasn't able to make it b/c I was out of town the whole week for a family emergency and got back saturday morning and promptly went to sleep ;-)
NMOcho 04-26-2007, 05:42 PM http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=105313 interesting clip about drifting in the 8.

txag98 05-18-2007, 04:44 PM BTW, church auto-x this weekend... anyone going to be able to make it out?
I might not be able to bring my 8 this time... Dudley's out of town and he took his pickup, so it looks like I'll have to bring my $800 mean-machine S-10 to move cones around. Yarrr!
stinger 05-18-2007, 05:36 PM I am going to try to txag. Just not 100% sure. My youngest has a dance recital on Sunday and there is about a million and one things to do still. I sure hope to make it! Thanks for the reminder!
stinger 05-19-2007, 03:53 PM Well I will not be able to make it to the Auto X tonight. Unfortunately there is just to much going on this evening that comes first! Sorry guy's! I hope you all have a great time! See you next month!
txag98 05-20-2007, 08:58 AM So sad... not a single 8 made it this time... I couldnt' even bring mine b/c I had to take my pickup to get cones and whatnot :-(
There was an SCCA C5 Z06 vette there last night who had racing tires on his 2nd two runs after things dried out. Was sick how fast he went through the course... and this one was probably the twisiest one we've done.
txag98 05-20-2007, 06:22 PM I just saw a link over at RSW for another Auto-X over at Sagebrush Church for June 16th over on the west-side off Coors.

It's got a date conflict for the next Hope Church race date, guess Father's Day weekend is a popular date. They're also doing an auto-show that Sunday too it looks like.
I'll have to see if we can move the date for the one at Hope forward or back a weekend if I can. If I can't, I'll probably just cancel the June event and go to that one so I can drive ;-) Gotta find out more info first, but it should be fun, they have a much bigger parking lot than we have ;-)
txag98 05-23-2007, 09:10 PM Someone put up some vids from last weekend of a couple runs.

There's a loop in the track and a VERY tight back corner ;-) Probably too tight, but oh well... was the same for all.
stinger 05-24-2007, 08:05 PM txag98That looked like one heck of a WILD COURSE!!!!!! I wish I could have made it, but my kids dance recital was the next day & I had promised that I would help with the load-in, setup & then after all was done the tear down. Let me know if you are still going to have the one in June or if you are going to cancel it & go to the other one. I may have to join you! As it stands right now I am free that night. I sure hope things dont change between now & then!
txag98 05-27-2007, 06:43 PM Yeah, that was a tight course... but looked fun. Was scary how fast that Z06 went through it with racing tires...
They have a web page up for it now... I think the plan right now is that we're thinking to try and change our date, but if we can't then we'll just cancel and go over there for that one. If they're going to start up a regular thing then Dudley will probably coordinate with them so there's no date conflicts... then there could be 2 auto-x's per month ^_^ ... how cool would that be!
Here's the website, btw:

JFroTurbo 05-29-2007, 12:18 PM yah that zo6 was just stupid.... it was all fast and crazy... anyway good times.. i hope to see more rotary out next time ;)
stinger 06-13-2007, 04:39 PM Hey txag98 any offical word as to if the church is going to have the AutoX this Saturday 6/16/07?

We've cancelled our Auto-X at Hope Church for the 16th to not conflict with the one at Sagebrush over on Coors that will be on the 16th. They have a huge parking lot and it's their first attempt. Rumour is that if they get lots of attendees they may make it a regular thing.
Soooo, we've pushed our Hope Church auto-x to the 23rd instead.
I saw in another thread that there's a rotary meet that afternoon. What better than to get a crew to head from the meet to the auto-x ^_^
stinger 06-13-2007, 09:59 PM Sounds good to me txag98! Thanks for the info and the Update on the AutoX! Are you going to be able to make the Rotary Meet?

There's a good chance I'll be able to make it. Probably won't know till next week if I have anything major going on that needs taking care of that day before the auto-x.
Hopefully we can drag some rotaries out with us :-)
Ok, I just looked and noticed that the time for the meet has been moved to 4:00 ... sooooo it's doubtful I'll be able to make it there since I will need to be at the church to start setup somewhere between 4:30 and 5:00 to start setup for the auto-x. I think we're trying to get them started closer to 6pm this year since we're shutting down at 9:30 now (which is actually way better b/c we can fudge the end more easily and let latecomers get a run in which we couldn't do last year when we were hitting that 10:00 pm noise ordinance barrier).
Oh, looks like I've been recruited to help out some at the Sagebrush autox this weekend too. LOL! Hopefully that one will do well, they're getting some real SCCA timing equipment and such I think... and all that parking lot space... mmmmm! I hope there's a huge turnout and that they make it a regular thing there too, that'd be great ^_^
txag98 06-17-2007, 01:35 PM I went to the Sagebrush Auto-X last night.... was very cool. There were some neat cars there including an Ariel Atom.
They're trying to make that one a regular event which will be cool.
I did ok, had a hard time with the helmet b/c I'm almost too tall for my 8 as it is, so I was slouched.
The Hope church auto-x is next saturday... so this month there are two chances to go race ^_^
