I think the NJ dealer will issue you temporary tags and a temporary registration. Then you pay PA taxes when you register the car later.

whats up homie, long time no talk. anyway, if you purchase a car out of state, it depends on where you purchase it from. if you get it from a dealer, they "should" include in the final price taxes, tags, etc and all you have to do is take it to the dmv and pick your tags up. (i live in delaware and purchased my car in virginia, and the dealership actually mailed me a check made out to the dmv for the registration and tags).

if you are purchasing from a private seller, you will have to take care of everything yourself.

hey lurch! how've you been?

yea, i'm looking to buy from a private seller in nj. for my gf's brother. a 95 mx-3 for 500 bucks :-P i figure if the car runs for 6 months to a year, it's worth it haha, because he wants to learn how to drive a manual, and i won't let him learn with my car. don't judge me tho, my 8 is my baby!

btw lurch, i'm stillllll trying to remote start this bad boy :-P

you will pay tax and tag fees for the state you live in

i just did this last week, live in PA, bought my car in NJ. they will give u a 20 day non-resident temp then your registration will come to the dealer and u pick it up. they r transferring my tags but now when the registration comes in i need to get the car inspected. good luck.

Your car will be registered depending on what home address you put down when you buy the car. And yes you will pay the state tax, which in your case would be NJ since you are buying the vehicle there.
