I figured this would be useful in here. My exhaust is the RX8Store catback and the RX8Store catless/resonated midpipe. Here's a couple vids, first one is idle, holding at 3k, then revving to redline. Second is in the car going up to about 8k.

Sorry about the shitty quality, you might have to turn up the sound a bit higher than normal to get the proper sound.

Enjoy!

That resonated midpipe makes a huge difference in the sound. The windows down clip is nuts!

Do you have an intake also?

I'm glad everything worked out. Good Job.

Yah it is nuts haha. It's actually pretty cool, it's loud when I want it to be, and mellow when I just cruise. 3500-4000 rpms in 4th gear is pretty sensible. WOT is nuts however :D

And yes I have an intake, AEM CAI.

Dude, redo the first video, except bounce on and off full throttle at 8,000+ rpm. Do it while it's dim or dark out and NOT in your neighborhood. Enjoy the light show!!

Oh, and GTAW (RX8club.com member) has an O2 sensor bushing that will help keep your CEL off. Mine stayed off for a while. Now it's intermittent.

Yes I know it can and will throw flames, I really don't give a shit. Who really cares? Heh... at least you enjoy it I guess.

On another note, I went WOT to like 6k and let off and my friend behind me claimed a small flame puffed out. Must be easy as hell on a Renesis. It was a bit harder in my 2nd gen rx7.

Yah there's a how-to on many car forums, like an Evo one. It costs about 2 dollars to do yourself ;)

No CEL yet, almost 200 miles without one. I'm sure I'll get one eventually, but that's why I have the stuff needed to make that piece for the O2 sensor.

Could you get someone to video from outside the car? Drive by, etc.

Yeah, it was weird that I went about 2000 miles w/out a CEL, then it came on and it comes on intermittently now. It comes on less if I drive the hell out of it.

GTAW charged $20 for his part. It was easier for me to do that than make it myself!
(I tried Spark Plug defoulers first. I tried 1 and then 2. They didn't work. His bushing did.)

What exactly is the difference between his "bushing" and the defoulers? From what I've gathered in searching, they're the same.

His bushing was machined by him, whereas the spark plug defoulers are for a different purpose. You just have to drill out the centers with a 1/2" bit. The bushing was apparently tuned for thickness to work. I couldn't believe it worked, to be honest!! The SPDs brought the O2 sensor out furthur. For some reason, the thickness that GTAW used works. I don't know why and he won't tell!

Tuned for thickness? That's laughable. What exactly does that mean?

We shall see after I do this myself. Whenever I get a CEL that is.

Sounds deep before you hit it hard. Also sounds quiet on idle. Nice!

Yeah, I guess that sounded funny. What I mean is that he claims to have specifically designed the bushing to be a certain height (or 'thickness') that would make it work. He very well may have just gotten lucky, but I couldn't believe that it worked!

Does your seat-of-the-pants dyno tell you an increase in power or no?

Yah feels like it has a bit more power, it is noticeable. I'm 99% sure it's all from the cat deletion.
