I have been reading quite a bit in the other forums about very significant discounts (6-8k off MSRP) that are being handed out in other parts of the country. I am in the market for this type of car and am looking to purchase one this weekend.

Is anyone recieving more than 4-5k off MSRP in the Seattle area? I would really like it if some recent buyers could share the deals that they recieved and where they recieved them from so that I can have a good undrstanding of what I should expect.

What are the available rebates that I can get. I have heard of a Zoom Zoom Live rebate and a Gerber rebate but I don't know anything about those rebates and could really use additional information.

You can file this under "no help" category, but in Oregon they are offering 6-7k dealer discounts plus a $1,000 incentive for financing through Mazda America Credit. From what I have seen there are limited options and colors available, but good deals to be had.

If color and options are a concern I think the best values out there are low mileage 04's and 05's. I have an '05 I may be parting with.

I wasn't really planning on buying one. I always wanted one, but was cheap and had an idea of what the gas mileage would be. Besides, my WRX was ok. I got $7500 (from dealer?) off plus $1000 from Mazda America Credit for borrowing $10000 (minimum) on a 2005 white GT package. The rate blows (%9.3), but I can pay it off in 4 months and will.

Don't know if many of this are left, but I was damn happy, even if I am not a big fan of white.

BTW: So far the gas mileage looks to be everything I was warned about. But damn, it really is a fantastic car otherwise. The 6 speed alone is worth the price of admission. I feel like Aryton Senna driving this car, it is just so easy.

I checked recently with University Mazda in Seattle, and the salesman there I talked to, John, said they had some new GT's MSRP about 36k that they were selling for about 31k, with no haggling. I almost bought there until I founda used '05 Shinka with 3800 miles on it. The guy was asking 22,5k, I walked up and handed him a check and have been smiling ever since.
