None of those. The M3 has a faster 0-60 time than the RX-8, but all of the 3 series are about 1000 lbs. heavier than the RX-8 also which will undoubtedly affect their "tossability".

I think that 1000lbs. is a typo, no? The M3, the heaviest of the 3 is 3400lbs. (1545kg)

Seriously, the top 3.0L cars can hang with the RX-8. But at a much higher price.

The RX8 should easily be able to handle any of those BMW's. M3 is a different story, but was NOT included on the list.

My RX7 has no problems pulling away from 330Ci's(fastest of the group) and the RX8 has more power than my car had.

The only one it would have problems with are the M3's and the 330is with the Performance Package

If you're looking at a car to "hose" something at a stoplight, you're completely missing the point of the car. There are plenty of cars that will have far better straight line performance than the RX-8.

If you' meant "hose" in some form of legal and relatively safe motorsports like autocross or track days, then it will depend almost completely on the driver. Given equal driver skill in one of those areas, I'd speculate that the RX-8 should be able to beat all but the M3 and 330 with the performance package. I'd guess the 330 with the performance package would be pretty close, but that's just a guess.

I think when the twisties come, the RX-8 will pull ahead of the 330ZHP (performance package model) however who cares... you are going to pay a $10,000 premium for it!

Not worth it to me, because if there's a difference.. it will be negligble. Not to mention, the 330 has quite a few hundred pounds on the RX-8 and that will take away some of its agility.

I personally dont think the 8 will be able to take even the base 330i without one of those sky-high clutch drops.

Even the auto 330's hit 60 in under 7 seconds. Thats more than enough speed to outgun an 8 on the street.

According to published statistics, the RX-8 would beat all of them. In real life though, a race between an 8 and a 330 would probably come down to the drivers, since the 8's times are only slightly better than a 330's, but probably harder to hit consistantly.

the m3 will beat the rx8, make the rx8 lighter and put a turbo or supercharger its a close race, my friends brother has a m3 and he raced an audi a4 and it was a close race, the m3 won, but the audi crashed cause the guy was driving like a maniac:)

RX-8 can definitely beat 325i/325Ci, but as far as 330i, whether with or without the performance package, it is hard to tell. But for M3, I can't see one reason why a M3 would lose to a RX-8, unless the driving skill between the two drivers is just too much.
