I went to one of the dealers in Fort Myers and he quoted me $500 for the whole thing top and bottom front and mirrors. He showed me his car done. The line is visible but not too terribly. I am not sure If I will put out the money though - yet.

I was also thinking of this. They say that it will prevent small paint chips in the front end. Has any one done this?

I didn't want to do the hood [b/c of the line thing] but 3 of the 8+ chips on my car are on the hood. The line,in my opinion, is a small price to avoid the beaten to hell look most daily drivers have.

Had it done today, the FULL kit (hood, top of each fender, mirrors, complete front bumper, headlights and foglights).

You can only see the line on the hood (my RX-8 is yellow) in the garage, under artificial lights. Outside, it is almost impossible to see unless you know it's there. From more than 3 feet away, you couldn't see it if you DID know it was there.

The rest of the kit is invisible. WAY better than repainting the front end every couple of years, like I did with the Miata. $1500 to paint the front end (PPG paint with urethane), $600 for the kit installed.

Hmmmmmm.

Pictures tomorrow (there is a storm here at the moment, lightning and all).

Just curious:

What do you do if you get into a fender bender? How does one fix the covevred area? Can the body shop easily remove the section of 3M's stoneguard without ruinng the paint job of the un-effected area?

Tahnks,

can be removed without damaging the paint. If in a fender bender you would need to replace the entire panel.

Hi,
I am a new member in here. I have the Invisible bra on my RX8. Works great!!!!! Sometimes it also good to pay liitle bit more for the installation and have it installed properly and from best quality film. Its really important.

I am an international student from Poland studying in St.Louis.
The company that installed the Bra for me in STL did really great job.

Przemot--Welcome to the U.S> and to this forum. It's a great venue for learning about your car and for socializing with folks with similar interests.

Notice, however, that you have resurrected a thread that was last active back in the heady days when the RX-8 was the hot, new entry just coming into the dealer showrooms and onto the streets (August 2003).

I think that you have set a new record for thread resurrection.

We know he used the search button though. ;)

Good job.

I had a custom 3M kit installed on the Mazdaspeed bumper, hood, and fenders as well and am happy with it.

Peace of mind is worth it.
