View Full Version : Blitz intake (any issues)
crimson-rain 01-12-2006, 01:51 PM I know a few people on this board have the Blitz intake. I was just wondering how is it holding up since install. You know the usual, how many miles, dust problems (if any), how many times has it needed to be cleaned, etc. I've never heard of a filter made entirely out of stainless steel. Sounds cool though. Looking into dropping $425 on it after seeing the vids posted.
Another question: in one of the vids, is that high pitch, jet engine sound at idle the intake?
:)
Moonrover333 01-12-2006, 07:53 PM i have a filter test that shows the filtration and sir flow of some popular filters and the blitz didn't do so great in filtration but flowed very well and made good hp you can read up on it yourself if you want

crimson-rain 01-13-2006, 09:13 AM Now that was VERY interesting. The Apexi intake looks pretty good after reading that. Do they even have an intake setup for the 8 though?
Moonrover333 01-13-2006, 06:11 PM their intake is (I THINK) is just filter but you can call and ask i'm sure they could be of assistance

IZoomZoomI 01-17-2006, 02:27 PM not worth 425 if you ask me.
not worth 425 if you ask me.
the price is always just for the brand name... nothing more..yea its expensive tho.
CoupeM 02-27-2006, 01:25 PM is there any idling problem for the blitz kit?
jimmy_jammy 02-28-2006, 04:22 AM Anyone found out if the Apexi is available for the 8 yet??
Moonrover333 02-28-2006, 08:51 PM i tried calling but i think they were closed i'll try tomorrow it seems to me its just a filter replacement or a filter with a flange. i don;t think it comes with a bor or anything i will call tommorow for more details
crimson-rain 03-01-2006, 06:07 AM I went ahead and got the AEM CAI. Pretty nice. Now for a mid-pipe or high flow cat or something.
jimmy_jammy 03-01-2006, 10:50 AM Crimson, could you post a pic of it?

No probs. I'll borrow my mom's digi-cam and clean my engine bay (man it's dirty) as soon as I can. I still have to tap off the some of the hoses that aren't used anymore and get an air diffuser (maybe carbon fiber) also.
jimmy_jammy 03-01-2006, 02:11 PM Cool! thanks, look forward to seeing them
Moonrover333 03-01-2006, 06:14 PM ok well i called apexi and they do not have a filter kit for us but they will have a zaust avail for us at end of year
jimmy_jammy 03-02-2006, 03:47 AM Ahh, shame :(
VASasha 03-05-2006, 12:59 AM Just put my AEM CAI on today. Biggest pain in the ass ever. (I just hope i never have to clean it.) The only thing I could think of that needs capping off is the vacuum line and that isn't a "hose" and, strangely, the AEM kit doesn't come with the cap. Make sure you reconnected everything :O. Can't wait to drive my car tomorrow, just need to finish screwing on the fender wells.
