Now why would Mazda wanna make a different spec oil cooler for the AT?

you should get air diversion plate & radiator too IMO.

I was checking on some performance radiator, some of them stated only for MT, so im not about oil coolers, theres a mazdaspeed oil cooler selling on the web but mentioned for MT. Just wanna make sure if u guys know anything about it whether theres any difference...etc..

HKS makes an oil cooler kit that runs in parallel (ie has its own fuel pump, etc)....

It also had a diversion plate...

no other way than u make it custom. maybe it's only the fitting issue ..... i don't know why AT don't any of these things for the time being.

The Mt oil cooler (#) will fit on the At. You will need the right side mounting bracket, the diverter hood, the fittings and hoses that x-fer the oil (#) from the left to the right side. Check w/ Mazmart and see what he has availble.

Now when they say the radiator (#) is only for the Mt it's beacuse the At radiator has the transmission cooler attached to the bottom of the radiator. If you switch out the radiator you will have to plumb in an after market tranny cooler. I doing a DIY on that now just been dragging my heals posting it.

So any after market radiator for the 8 will fit the At, you just have to take care of the tranny cooler.

Now when they say the radiator (http:///#) is only for the Mt it's beacuse the At radiator has the transmission cooler attached to the bottom of the radiator. .So that may be the reason why Mazda states the front air dam is not compatible with AT's? Because the tranny cooler is located on the bottom of the radiator, the front aim dam might impede the air flow needed for the tranny cooler. I know the front air dam fits all AT's and MT's, just didn't know why Mazda said it was incompatible.

You know I never though of that. I still don't understand why that statement is made.

The air dam dosen't block air from the radiator, but maybe just enough from passing the transmission it self. Just a though.

The At cooler itself isn't exposed to air itself. It's in a plastic end cap attached to the bottom of the radiator. The Engine coolant circs around the At cooler thus cooling the At cooler blah blah blah.

Does the Hot engine coolant feed at the top of the radiator or the bottom?
I don't remember the fluid dynamics Heat convetion law:lol2:
