Raptor2k 01-10-2006, 07:37 PM what motor? Moostafa29 01-10-2006, 08:02 PM Geez, have you been waiting this entire time? NgoRX8 01-10-2006, 08:39 PM Man... make sure they get it right. R.P.M. 01-10-2006, 10:32 PM Hahaha....OfficerFarva, thats such a great name :ylsuper: What kind of motor are you getting built? stock renisis? Moostafa29 01-10-2006, 11:05 PM ^His motor blew from a tuning shop that didn't know how to tune. R.P.M. 01-10-2006, 11:28 PM So then what kind of motor is he getting built? LOL Is he going to have the Renisis built right back to stock....or have some modifications done to it to prevent it from blowing up again? DOMINION 01-11-2006, 12:06 AM ... Oh yea Bump OfficerFarva 01-12-2006, 12:13 PM they are building the renesis w thicker apex seals, ACT clutch/flywheel and a wideband system. they just started b/c the guy building it got in a car accident. oh the irony... R.P.M. 01-12-2006, 01:25 PM By thicker apex seals, I hope you mean taller.... If your going to the bother of milling the rotors out to accept 3mm apex seals than you should consider also having them milled deeper to accept 3mm apex seals from an RX-7. Although I'm not a big fan of 3mm apex seals, its really not needed. The stock 2mm Mazda seals that are used in the 2nd and 3rd generation RX-7's work fine, the only problem with the renisis is that their apex seals are shorter and tend to break. OfficerFarva 01-12-2006, 02:01 PM they are not 3mm seals but "beefier" 2mm seals that they have used w/ high turbo'd 7's Nemesis8 01-12-2006, 09:14 PM Are these CERAMICSEALS? R.P.M. 01-12-2006, 10:56 PM they are not 3mm seals but "beefier" 2mm seals that they have used w/ high turbo'd 7's Ahhhh ok, so they must be milling the apex seal groove deeper to accept the standard RX-7 apex seal height. That's great!! It sound like they know what they are doing. OfficerFarva 01-13-2006, 05:48 PM Yea they are machining the grooves themselves, but the guy who has been doing it for years got in a car accident supposedly and thats why they havent been working on for a long time. But he's back and ready for action so it should move quicker now. No they arent ceramic to my knowledge. Sapphonica 01-13-2006, 09:50 PM Oh, you'd know if they were ceramic...the money would be gushing out of your wallet to pay for 'em! R.P.M. 01-13-2006, 11:19 PM LOL..... Mazda OEM seals - around $300 Cdn NRS Ceramic - $1500 :Eyecrazy: OfficerFarva 01-14-2006, 12:26 AM lol, yea ok then definitely no ceramic ;). Moostafa29 01-14-2006, 12:56 AM $1500?!? I could get a gold apex seal for that price... glassman 09-11-2009, 02:18 PM LOL..... Mazda OEM seals - around $300 Cdn NRS Ceramic - $1500 :Eyecrazy: You havent checked on this for a while? :) Actually not sure where this price you mention comes from. Even at the old prices this fits no where. Maybe when the exchange was still high? |
