I bought an '04 6MT about six weeks ago, and it's been a hell of a fun ride so far. However, I noticed the Check Engine light had come on the other day and it hasn't gone off yet in 50-some miles of driving since. I don't know when it started and the car is still working fine, so I'm taking it in to a dealer this week. Nope, it's not the fuel cap, I checked that :)
Anyway, since I am going to take it in, I wanted to compile a list of other things for the dealer to look at. It only had 10,200 miles when I bought it, and I don't believe any service was done on it prior to my purchase. I've searched the forums for recommendations, but am open to other suggestions:
- the 'Check Engine' light issue.
- replacing my wheel lock key (mine was missing when I bought it).
- the front end suspension recall issue, if it hasn't been fixed.
- the engine cooling recall issue, if it hasn't been fixed.
- the starter motor and battery upgrades to reduce flooding issues.
- the most recent ECU update.
Does that cover everything? I'm not sure if there are any other issues common to the 8 in general or '04 6MTs in specific that I need to mention. Thanks for any input!
