Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to purchase an RX-8 very soon and I want to add on the MazdaSpeed side skirt only. Eventually I will add the rest of the bodykit, but for now, while I save some money, I want to complete the cars look with just the MazdaSpeed sideskirt.

Any of you have an RX-8 with just the MazdaSpeed sideskirt installed? I'm curious as to how the vehicle looks that way. Thanks. I look forward to your posts and pictures!

I think the sideskirts would look stupid without atleast installing the front end. IMO, the only MS part you could put on by itself without looking silly would be the back end or the spoiler. You can see in my signature how much lower the side is... just picture it without the back or front... ick.

I THINK IF U GET THE APPEREANCE FRONT CLIP AND MAZDASPEED SIDE SKIRTS THE CAR WOULD LOOK REAL NICE... MAKE SURE U GET 18" WHEEL OPTION ;) ... don't waste your time doing that. Wait till you get the entire kit. Doing what your trying to do is very HondaLike, and thats toy. Get the whole kit first.

someone posted this before but the only way it will look good is if you get the apperance package from dealer then add the side skirts...some people have posted pic of that....


but if you don't have the apperance package and just add the ms side skirts i think it will look funny...!! just my opinion;)

It wouldn't look good. The car would look unbalanced from the quarter and side views because the sides would be lower than the front or rear.

Yea, just save up for the entire kit; it wouldn't make sense with just the skirts.

yea, save up for entire kit, but if you have the appearance pkg already, you might want to do it, if not, dont bother just adding the side skirts.

do the entire kit , i sale mazda and have a 8 ,and it will look better

Ahh, yes, DANomite's pictures were the ones I was waiting for. It makes me think about getting the sideskirts myself.

I've been thinking about that too,just skirts with my appearance pkg. on my VR, looks very good thinks for the pics.

i was thinking danomites car too. his looks really good with the skirts and app. package. I dont really see the problem with that combo.

yeah i think that looks real good....i just ordered the MS side skirts and i was at first going to wait to get the whole kit cause i don't have the money to just buy it all at once but after seeing this i think i will put them on my car. i have the apperance package already so i like it...its better to start with that if you don't have the whole kit at once then you have to do the front end next which would also look fine without doing the back....then i think the back end you can do last:)!! then mirrors, wing, etc.;)!

You could always get the urethane knock-offs and then have the entire sideskirt painted to match your car. The part I don't like about the MS sides with the Appearance items is that the gunmetal grey color on the bottom will not match the rest of your car. (This is coming from someone who has the MS front, sideskirts and rear aero flares)...so basically, I'm critizing my own car....:)

yeah it doen't fit perfect but if your tight in budge and its only temp i think its alright....as long as you at least have the apperance package!! IF ITS ONLY TEMP! i plan on getting the whole kit but i have to start somewhere and i would rather get it on my car then let it sit in a garage;)

I think you should go with DANomite's set up. I used to have that as well, and thought it looked pretty nice. I never got the full kit because I'm not a big fan of the rear of the spoiler.
