I had my car on the dyno this morning (dynojet). Did 2 runs.
Results: 265hp/ 224tq at 10psi in 4th gear. This is using the Interceptor X EMS.

I didn't do it in 5th gear due to the strain on the engine, plus they didn't have a big fan available to blow air on it either. Got a few flames after he let off.

AFR's are right at 12.0

Nice numbers, if we could only hold boost we'd easily be over 300hp. Hopefully Scott's new exhaust manifold will fix that.

That would be awesome.

Here's my dynoplot on the same dyno 5 months ago using the blue emanage. Stock boost of 6psi peak and only 3 psi holding.
AFR's also weren't as steady, red line (blue line is bad, tailpipe sensor fell out).

that is crazy so you have essentially doubled your HP with the Interceptor installed and you still have much more you can go with this setup

nice!

Very cool - are you at all 'missing' being able to run to redline? Seems you may have lost 1500 or so in your RPM range.

If I remember he is just not running it up to the redline because there wasn't proper cooling equipment at the dyno facilities

Do you think another 2-5? seconds on the dyno would have made enough difference? Looks like the power is starting to fall off anyway abotu 7500. Could be the turbo, I'd guess; if he's still using the hair-drier which came w/ the GReddy.

The torque is the most impressive I find with everyone using the Interceptor. This 180-190 peak TQ that most people with the emanage have been getting (including myself) sucks. I guess the ignition timing really helps ALOT!!

Is this using a stock mid pipe? B&b catless? or....

Impressive either way, now those are flames!

Yes, it's tuned. Notice the smooth 12.0AFR's across the bottom. Was around 10.0-10.5 with the general map.

Didn't really lose 1500, it just doesn't make peak power above that rpm. If you look at mazsports dyno, they also reach peak hp at 7000-7200rpms. So no sense in going further if you already have most of your plot.

Yes, it's something to do with the $3k hair dryer :yesnod: not holding boost above 6k-7krpms. Maybe the manifold, maybe turbo just unable to flow anymore at that high of an rpm, don't really know.

Torque is very much improved. It pulls really hard from 4k to 6k rpms. It's not very useful in drag racing since your in the upper rpm range most of the time. Although in autox'ing... that's a different story.
This was with the B&B catless and Borla exhaust. Putting in the turboxs and selling the B&B / Borla.

Although in autox'ing... that's a different story. I'm only partially tuned, running 8psi on california 91 octane but I'm breaking the wheels loose coming out of turns on 255 series Azenis RT615 tires. I'm used to getting on the gas sooner and waiting for the NA engine to come up to speed. I also need wider tires for better grip.

Would you feel comfortable doing a full-fledge track day with your car? Twenty-minute sessions at varing degrees of WOT'ness.... :)

Just F.Y.I. guys you can usually turn the flames on or off. In the Interceptor-X software toggle to the DECEL screen and change the value from OFF to about 25"hg. Once you do this, If (1) the T.P.S. is closed, (2)the rev's are above 2000 and (3)there is more than 25" present the Interceptor will cut the fuel untill one of the three parameters change. Actually I usually ask the customers "flames or no flames" Scott

20min sessions???
I don't think I would be up for it. I'm not that good of a driver. I'll stick with the 1-2min autocrossing courses in a big parking lot and pegging some cones.

FLAMES, Please! :mdrmed:

I never knew about the flames until yesterday coming back from the dragstrip.
I had a tailgater on me and I dropped it into 3rd gear and floored it to give me some distance. He dropped wayyyyy back after that. My roommate who was driving further back called me and said I had just shot out a monster flame and most of the traffic slowed down. :yesnod:

But would you trust the car? See, what's keeping me from looking into FI is how much I'd worry about boost, A/F, EGTs, etc...It's like, monitoring the car would be more work than fun. :(

Oh, I'd definitely trust the car.
As far as boost and oil pressure, that's what the gauges are for. They'll flash a bright led if any go past my preset warning levels (top left in pic). I've also added a bigger radiator to keep the engine temps down.

I believe PUR NRG does alot of track events with his kit.

I believe PUR NRG does alot of track events with his kit.Actually no. I did one track event with the CanZoomer. I'm still in the process of tuning my Interceptor and the soonest I'd do a track event with it is next summer. But I have done a couple autocrosses with it and 100 octane race gas.

I have the Interceptor and the upgraded turbo, and I'm finally getting it to the dyno this Saturday. I'll post the results as soon as I can.

the horsepower is impressive... but what i'm loving is your AFR reading... steady.

i'll probably be joining you in the interceptor world very soon. I'm just waiting on one last thing.

Actually I usually ask the customers "flames or no flames" ScottI wonder whether police can ticket your ass for the flames.

Are the flames only when you let off high RPMs? I thought that all ECUs completely cut fuel at deceleration (but I am probably wrong). Is this possible on N/A?

i'm interested in seeing your numbers, SR. i've pretty much gotten as much out of the "3k hair dryer" as i'm gonna get... lol. Ray from PFS posted my last dyno run here:

i'll enjoy the level i'm at for a while until something bigger and better comes out in the spring....

I don't think so, but sure would give them good probable cause to pull you over and have you pop your hood.

It is possible to make flames N/A there are many threads and vids about that on the forum.

Just got back from the dyno. Unfortunately, Scott wasn't able to make it out here this weekend, so he tried to help me as much as he could by phone. I've never tried to tune a car before, so I'm fairly certain that my numbers do not reflect the full potential of my car. Anyhow, I don't have a picture of my dyno graph to show, just numbers:

Max HP - 275
Max Torque - 236.1

Those numbers were in 4th gear at 12PSI (although the max HP number falls at 7000RPM, at which point my datalog says I was holding 8PSI). I'll be out of town for all of January, but I might have Scott come out in February and hit the dyno up again and see what more we can squeak out of it, especially considering what drifter_d saw after PFS got done with his.
