Tirminyl 12-12-2005, 07:56 AM They already have an issue with overheating and he wants to tripple that. Plus you can get custom face plates.
moRotorMotor 12-12-2005, 08:05 AM It's a good thing he didn't install it the other way around. It would look...umm not good. :evil_laug

nyrican 12-12-2005, 11:21 PM I never understood why people put video game consoles in a car. In an SUV if you got kids, it makes sense, but to put one just to put one makes no sense. Especially in a sports car. What are you gonna do, sit in your driveway and play on a small screen? :dunno:
Mugatu 12-12-2005, 11:28 PM too bad the xbox 360 sucks ass.
army_rx8 12-12-2005, 11:31 PM ^hahahahahahaha
Armaant 12-12-2005, 11:36 PM umm seriously...lets think and do some research...nothing wrong with putting a game console in your car if thats what you want but an xbox 360 in december. 1st expect your car to be broken into very quickly. And the reason is that the 360 is going for anywhere between $700-$1500 and up on ebay and if you have two??? people walking down the street have been beaten for one of these. my advice is to take it out, put it back in the box, throw it on ebay and rebuy one in a couple months and take the $1500-3000 and throw that into your car...it will do alot more then an xbox

it auto starts and plays the playlist of my choice with visualizations on the screen...and then shuts down with ignition
:)
I love it :)
but no I don't play games on it although I could

Do you have a how to or can you provide a list of the supplies necessary to do such a task? this is exactly what i want to do.
truemagellen 12-13-2005, 08:10 PM um I just worked on it over a few month period of time
a friend helped me with the modding of the xbox and then a company who just happens to be local helped me swap out the AC-DC power supply with a DC to DC power supply that has an auto voltage regulation/relayed startup and many other features the company was http://llamma.com/xbox/ I was their guinea pig and it took them way more time then it was worth so they probably do not like me anymore oh well. I can tell you though if you get the right parts and wire it up correctly you can do it on your own.
I ended up putting a 400gig hard drive in...this was foolish as it was a collosal pain trying to get it to recognize a drive that is over spec by 180 gigs but they did it some how
I have it mounted in the trunk btw using a wireless controller ATM but will installed a hardwired controller in the center console when I have time
my video screen is the Stock Nav screen that I hooked up the avelectronics box I got from www.mazdaparts.com and for sound I used the PIE auxiliary input adaptor.
I'm using XBMC (xbox media center) for my boot program so there is no delay on startup and it is setup with playists that autostart and startup sequence can be modded easily
NVMYGT 12-14-2005, 06:44 AM Awesome! Thanks! This should definitely help get me started.
Dookie_Rx-8 12-14-2005, 11:57 PM at least he has tints....
Hellbreed 02-12-2006, 07:05 AM It looks photochopped to me. Besides, the console is just under 12" in height, I don't know about your RX-8's but mine is MUCH higher then that from the back console to the Headrest. Based on this picture the distance would be 14-15", which would put the headrest on my back and my head through the roof if I sat in the back seat.

And, there is a recall with the 360's being in that position. The laser will scratch the disk and you have to get a new game. It doesn't scratch if it's on it's side... which is the way mine is. :ylsuper:
There is no recall with the unit being on the side. The problem was some kid was moving and or shaking the 360 while it was playing. I have had no problems with mine on the side, and I have had it since the begining.
