As to your question ... yea, alot of us wash our cars in the winter. Some on the driveway when it's "warm" enough (minus 5-10 Celcius is fine with me) and some go to carwash bays where it's a bit warmer. Just be certain to bring your own equipment and ask if they recycle their water (or something like that)

I go to a self wash bay (big Bucket) When it's really cold out, there is nobody in there so they donl't mind you drying the cart off. I then go and tuck it in for the night in its nice warm garage.

How does the water not ice up on your car? Do you have a hose that has both hot and cold water? I tried last year in my driveway. I started when it was +2C but an hour later the water started freezing up on the car, which makes it a little difficult to dry off .

In Richmond, I'm sure you could easily wash your car every week all through the winter, with the only problem being that you might get cold soapy water in your boot.

Herbert, what I do is wash as fast as I can then get it into my heated garage to dry it off. I try to do it when it's sunnier and on a day that's not as windy. Oh man ... I should have washed the car today, we had a nice chinook with tons of sun!

I just go in the middle of the night when there's nobody there and I wash and dry in the bay. Then if somebody wants in, I say "hey screw off buddy, can't you see my RX-8 kicks your F-150 in da ass?"

Did you drive the car for a while to warm it up first? Did you leave it running with the defrosters on full blast?

In a sheltered bay out of the wind your car should generate enough heat to prevent icing up when it is only slightly below 0C.

If it's *way* below 0C it's not really safe for you to be outside fooling around with water yourself - I'd just hose the underside and wait for warmer weather for a thorough bath.

Hey BF, all conceptions about the kit shoveling the streets are wrong (unless your car is also lowered). I've had no problems with the MS kit so far. I believe the ground clearance is the same as with a front air dam.. not sure tho.
