Seem like the productionresults for June is delayed (www.mazda.com usually show them around the 23-27 of the month after)
But the stats so far
2301 built in April 1791 for Japan
5151 built in May 2978 for Japan and 1237 for Export.
I actually find it strange that North America get their RX8īs before Europe does, since Europe has been a bigger market. Perhaps
they think that the rotary (with the low fuel price in North America)
is the prime export market, but thatīs only my assumption.

I'm not complaining. Those crazy Europeans!

Europe is a bigger market? Since when? The U.S. is the largest auto market in the world.

Depends on the vehicle

Half of worldwide RX-8 production is for the USA (30k of 60k units from next year onwards). Europe will be lucky to get 15k.
I think that ANY car that is legally sold in the USA and can be serviced here will sell more units than anywhere else in the world (except perhaps Japan for certain Japanese niche vehicles).

As an aggregate, the U.S. auto market is the largest (and thus most important) in the world.

Indeed the US car market is slightly larger than the West European. Both are a bit in a dip now, and The US is at +/- 15.5 million cars/year compared to 14 million/year for Europe.

Mazda don't have a big market share in Europe. Don't know why particularly.
Most of the European nations buy predominantly locally made cars (Renault/Peugeot/Citroen in France, Fiat in Italy etc)
In England we don't have a domestic car industry anymore :( , and so we buy Ford and GM.

June:
Production: 6,981
Domestic Sales : 1,911
Exports: 5,157
7000 per month is more than 80.000 per year.

Mazda/GM must be satisfied with the first few months, 14443 RX8īs born first half of 03, 6680 sold in Japan and 6394 to the rest of the planet.
I wonder what the break-even numbers are?

Well, when I say bigger market, I mean more Mazdas sold in Europe than in the USofA (E 91996 vs US 90784). But I guess itīs
because of lower fuel prices compared in the USofA with Europe or traditionally more wankels been sold on the US market,
but a weak US$/strong Ĩ can be a problem for Mazda on the US market.
