View Full Version : Post your route to work
Dinhx8 10-25-2005, 05:04 PM Okay, i like the i saw you driving your 8 thread. How bout just a simple post your route to work, and with times, and lets see how many are nearby around the same time...get it? (i.e., see if you cross paths with any other 8s).
Heres mine- (04- Titanium GT with tints and clear corners)
9:30 am leave arlington. Get on 50 E. Cross Roosevelt Bridge into Dc.
Hit Rock Creek pkway north by 9:40 ish. Shoot up pkway all the way to Tilden St, turn right on Connecticut by 9:50.
At work by 10:00- I work just pass Van Ness metro.
I reverse this on the way home btwn 6:30 and 7.
ZoomZoomH 10-25-2005, 05:55 PM ooh good idea, i'll play.
9:00 leave house in gainesville va
9:10 gets on the hell that is I-66 East
now depending on traffic I either take I-66 all the way to I-495, or I exit at Nutley St exit and hook up Lee Hwy from there.
9:40 gets on Gallows Rd E near Fairfax (either from I-495 or from Lee Hwy described above)
9:50 gets on Columbia Pike E
9:56 gets on Leesburg Pike E
10:00 arrives at Skyline complex in Falls Church VA (where I work)
return trip is basically reverse of morning commute, with A LOT of variations in Fairfax to get around the traffic jam on I-66 W during evening rush hour, usually leaves the office after 6 :D:

ahh-so close yet so far. I live off of Columbia Pike, on Walter REed drive.
Not far from Skyline at all....i usually cross Columbia Pike (much 'norther' than you) around 9:35 as I head to route 50 towards DC.
ZoomZoomH 10-25-2005, 06:05 PM see this thread is already working like it was intended, nice thread idea :D:
JackInTheBox 10-25-2005, 08:25 PM 6:58 Left out of driveway.

carbonRX8 10-25-2005, 10:09 PM Yeah, was going to post but the stalker thing has got me spooked. :fruit: <- is that a ghost?
Anyway, I think it is safe to say that in the morning I go counterclockwise on the beltway from Ga Ave. then north on 270. Generally the reverse (depending on traffic) in the evening.
JinbaIttai 10-26-2005, 12:23 AM Okay, this is gonna sound a bit creepy, but I also work right by Skyline! From Alexandria, I go up Rt 1, hop over to Telegraph, then work my way over to Seminary Road. I work in Mark Center, right by Skyline.
Of course I've only had my Velocity Red for five days! I switch between the 8 and my 96M Miata. Ah yes, the benefit of being a single guy with a decent job: two sports cars. I like refering to the 8 as my "station wagon." Upon pointing out four seats, my mom called it a "family car." ;P
wushunut 10-26-2005, 01:10 PM hmm.. ok i'll bite.
7:50am open garage door, clip into mountain bike.

wushunut 10-28-2005, 02:40 PM we might have even talked! o.o I work in Adv. Reg. and I've had to work with some examiner's in the past. Sometimes i'll drive my 8 to work. you'll notice it. It's the only yellow car in the garage. Most regulator's cars aren't so bright. haha
rkostolni 10-28-2005, 04:36 PM If I'm in a hurry I take 28 from Ashburn to Chantilly, but usually I take all backroads. Every couple of weeks I take out the map and find some new backroads to take to keep it interesting. I won't bore us with the names of the roads I take though, I doubt anyone has heard of them.
slllygrl10 10-29-2005, 06:36 PM I get on US-29 N then get on 495W get off on exit 34 make a slight left turn going to bethesda then tada....NNMC

When I posted the Philly speak phrases from Philly mag a while back, you tried to deny your heritage and wrote in a more "erudite" manner than the rest of us Philly guys.
And I quote:
"i am shocked and appalled at this bigoted repartee aimed at exposing the local philadelphian as being a low class degenerate hardly able to enunciate and elucidate simple grammar and common axioms. I desire nothing more than to discredit these erroneous and parochial assessments of the common diction in our fair metropolis. :D"
I thought maybe all that edgy-cashun was goin to your head. But I was relieved to see I was "prolly" wrong.
gonnahanvan8 11-01-2005, 08:32 AM Let's see if I drive the dodge intrepid.
