Well about a week ago, someon(outside of dealer) ran a VIN check for me, and said the car was in port. I then emailed the dealer and asked them when I can expect my car. They told me there was no status change(meaning they thought car was still on water), and that it would probably be 2nd week of August.

I went in today, and they basically said same thing. No status change, 2nd week of August. Told them the Twin Cities started receiving cars yesterday, but they figured they must have missed the first run of cars. .....ok

So, as soon as I got home I noticed someon(outsid of dealership) had answered my VIN query and told me my car should be at the dealership within 48 hours.

What the @#$@. Don't all dealers have access to checking VIN numbers. Its not a huge dealership, but for Rochester its just as big as any other dealership. Are they just too lazy to look it up for me, or do they really not have the means? My sales guy seems like a nice enough guy, but I'm starting to get a little torqued.

I am getting car for under MSRP, so I guess I can't complain too much.

Dealers are lazy is what it comes down to. My dealer says they only run the report once a week. So in other words they were too lazy go look stuff up for me.

BTW, this isn't just a Mazda thing; I know of other dealers that do the same "we only run reports once a week thing." Annoying to no end, and they somehow think that we don't know they can get updates daily if they bother to (so the old "we aren't allowed to check more than once a week" story doesn't wash...)
