Ok well in a few minutes im about to order my clear corners (from mazdaparts.com, taking advice from another thread)...anyways, I need DETALIED instructions on how to install them...any help is GREATLY appreciated.

btw I know hardly anything about cars and would need EXTREME detail in the instructions. I bet this will be really difficult for me seeing as ive never done anything to a car before, but I want to try and install SOMETHING by myself and figured this would be a good start. O and these dont void the warranty do they?

Thanks bunches <3 Sabrina :p

You'll do fine. Its an easy install (even for the faint hearted). And you'll love the look.

It is extremely easy. Pop out a couple of fasteners on the wheel well, one screw holds in the marker...the only tricky part is getting the old ones out...but when you look at the new ones, you see how they are held in and it's easy to figure out how you need to manipulate the lens to get it to come out.

And no, they don't void the warranty. As a matter of fact, we had our tech night last night at a Mazda dealer, the techs were commenting how they liked the clear corners on the Titanium Grey.

This is the EASIEST mod you'll ever do on your car.

Trust me, takes only a few minutes.

Pulling the old ones out is a bit scary because you have to pull them towards you. I even let a friend of mine install them for me (and he's COMPLETELY mechanically challenged!) and he was done in 10 minutes.

You'll love the way they look.

Clear corners are a great mod. Makes all except maybe yellow and red look much better. If you want to pull out the aluminum piece in it though, its guna take technique. It makes the light fill the whole sidemarker.

well the optional step of removing the little reflector inside the clear corner markers may take a bit more time, but that's only if you want to do it, otherwise the whole process of just installing it onto the car is really easy, just need to get over the initial nervousness of unscrewing stuff off the car :p

They came early (yay) so I installed them the second they got here...which was like 7pm. So it got dark before I finished...my dad was makin fun of me cause I was using my neons for a light source hehe. Got it done though, and it looks awesome. I think I wanna get purple lights for there though...looks like im stopping by autozone later tonight.

OMG the reflectors took forever to get out! I bout gave up. But it looks awesome without them :)

That stupid little reflector > me.
I scratched up the inside of my clear corners pretty well cuz I was struggling too much. Use the tips the board gives you and you won't have alot of scratches....

Well, you can't see those scratches anyways unless you look REALLY closely inside. hahaha. It looks tons better without that relector thing!

So would it be legal to get purple bulbs to put in there? cause that would look awesome...

Unlikely. Check you state motor vehicle laws. In Virginia the lights can be either white or amber.

most likely illegal... :o

Thanks guys. I just got my clear corners from MazdaParts. And all I needed to do to find this thread was search "install clear corners"

What would I ever do with this forum.

Thanks again. ZOOOOOOOM

I just received clear corners (mazdaparts.com) and looked inside for the reflector. Has the part been changed? The reflectors in mine look less like aluminum and more like chromed plastic. Before I take a screwdriver to them I want some reassurance.

Thanks

Not too sure about the mazdaparts clears but my mazdatrix clears looked similar. Turns out they were in fact just a shiney aluminum.

One way to check would be maybe take a ice pick or small exacto knife and test an area first. If you can shave a little off then yeah they might be plastic. If not then most likely their metal. Getting the reflectors out was the toughest part of the install. I scratched mine up a little but once they were installed you can't tell.

Well, I got the relectors out last night and yes they were aluminum. Thanks for the reassurance. Now I can install the clears today!
