Plonked $1200 for Dunlop Winter Sport M3s on ASA JH3s. They should look pretty good (especially, for the price) and hopefully with these snow tires, much fun will be had.

What kind of winter tires you guys up in Northeast have been running? (those who haven't been storing their 8s for the winter)

I ran Pirelli SnowSport 210 on my Protege for two winters. They were great the first winter, but by the time the 2nd winter ended, I wore them down so much (to 4/32nds tread) that they just weren't good in snow anymore.

So far, I have the winter essentials:

* winter tires - ordered
* clear bra - CHECK
* collapsible snow shovel - CHECK

Thinking I should get the mudflaps to help keep the rocker panels cleaner.

Those are very nice winter tires. I also have them on my stock tires. They work wonders in the snow and cold dry. But they are hella loud when the weather becomes warm (someone knows about this part *whistle*)

I ordered my winter tires & rims from TireRack. The 225/45-18 VR-rated size is sold out for the winter, was $178 a pop, the HR-rated size is backordered (but available it seems) for $172 a pop.

My M3s were $134 a pop (but 17s) and rims were 129.00 each.

TireRack also has the Pirelli SnowSport 240 available (VR rating) for $198 each. Pricey, but good tires. Not as good as M3, but when you can't get M3s, IMO those are next best thing. I had them on my old FWD Protege and they were great.

My buddy has those on his TT and when the snow falls it's a blast to drive. Like the snow isn't there, drift as far as you want...tons of fun!
