for the last 3 years ive been using the speaker level inputs on my amp, and this worked pretty damn well with my saab 9-5 w/harman kardon sound.
in the rx8 however, i couldnt turn up the bass nearly as loud w/o distortion.. either the signal was bad or the amp inputs were crappin out i guess..
i got decent bass but it was way too boomy and didnt hit nearly hard enough (2 infinity perfect kappa 10.1s w/ jbl 600.1 amp).... i know its hard enough when my nose vibrates with the bass. :)
in order to use a gain control knob mounted next to the DSC button i needed to use RCA inputs, so i got a 20 dollar LOC at CC and installed it, ran the RCA to the knob then to the amp, tuned it, and wow... HUGE difference. the bass is so much less boomy and gets way way way louder w/o distortion. plus, the knob is nice to have:)
the difference is nite and day.
im glad i decided to install the knob or id never have tried a LOC in the first place.
