I have seen 117 but I did not have my camera...a heat wave came through and I snapped this...thought it was funny...until I was in the car for a few minutes then I stopped laughing.

I saw 114 degrees in Phoenix this year, but except for a few days the summer has not been that hot.

I don't know about *hot*, but I think I could find a few pictures of -18 F from a trip to my old school in central wisconsin... Im sure people can dig those up....

-18 doesn't sound so bad to me. The way I see it, you can always put on more clothes to stay warm, but there's only so much clothing you can take off to cool off. :p

I know -18 is nasty, but so is 112. I just definitely prefer cold weather to hot weather.

Does anyone know where the temp sensor is? Is it just one, or a few and it averages the temps. Also, how come when you switch the car into metric, the speedo and odo/trip meter flip to metric but the AMB temp stays in standard.

The temp sensor is on the drivers side of the bumper, just inside the main grill, looks like the tip of a pen.

Can't come close to those temps, but it does get mighty "kool" around here.....

HA! That's nothing.

I have my water temperature gauge temporarily tied to my intake (still looking for a good way to mount it correctly)... well anyways. You should see how hot it can get under the hood in the texas heat. Once when sitting in the drive through the guage rose close to 90 Degrees Celsius (~200 Degrees Farenheight).

gotta press and hold the AMB button on the dash to switch to metric temperatures

The sensor does suffer from heat soak, highest I;ve seen here in the UK was 43C (whatever that is in F?) but it soon went down to 33 when I started driving.

Funniest, and I should have taken a pic, drove to pub for lunch, was frost on the ground, started snowing, got back in the car after lunch and the temp was reading 18C... within 2 mins it was down to zero !
