im left with a quarter of the tank and when i try to fill up my tank the gas stops pumping after about a gallon... i take out the hose try it again... still stops after a gallon.. did it about 4 times and stil the same result!

kinda frustrating and embarassing. is this a problem with my car? problem with the pump? anyone else have this problem? thanks :D

vapor lock on the pump. not your car. ive seen it happen before. unless you have tried more than one station/pump?

If the pressure of the pump is too great, backsplashing of gas onto the tip of the filler will cause the pump to sense that the tank is filled and stops it. Try pulling the filler out slightly or change the angle (turn it slightly sideways) to avoid this.

Happened to me a few time, mostly on interstate gas stations that are high capacity.

There is a flap which is supposed to prevent fuel spillage in the event of a rollover accident. I know of one owner who had a fillup problem because the flap had somehow frozen in the shut state. If you have this same problem consistently at different stations this may be the culprit.

lmao Your gas tanks have melted and become deformed. Recall time.
