I'm goin!

I went to one earlier this summer and it was fun. Get together between 4:30 and 6:30 (BS about cars and meet everyone). Some people go into the grocery store and get sushi and food and stuff. Then around 6:30 whoever wants to, goes on a "spirited" cruise. If you have one of those radios, bring it (reminder to self....look for the radios!). I think they are going to Chicago Indoor Racing afterward, but I'm not sure. I've never been there, but have been curious

It's just a chance to meet, check out cars, talk, and go for a fun drive. YOUSHOULDGO! :D

I'll be at the 12th becuase I'll be downtown that week, but won't be able to do 2 in one week. Don't reschedule on my account, but I'd be more likely to hit Fuds if it were a different week.

I think we should probably keep it as is...even if it is two meets in one week. I've heard from numerous people that they can make one or the other and I'd hate to see someone not be able to.

Unless there's a big consensus not to meet, I say keep it as is IMHO. But then again .... I'm an idiot! :D:D:D

BTW, we didn't get to kart at CIR tonight (time issues) but it looks like a ton of fun! I hear they do it pretty regularly after the JGTCA meets...

First off thanks to all the RX-8 folks who came out today :) It was a blast seeing you guys and gals out with t3h awesome cars... next time come out to CIR afterwards too! It is a bit pricey but we can work on getting a group rate if we can get folks to commit prior! :)

I'm signed up on 10/29 @ 12pm and will be there with a bunch of my autocross/track friends from Euroteknik. It should be a blast.

Lots of different cars...and a really nice bunch of people! Glad to have met all you fellow 8s last nite!! For those of you who didn't cruise, you missed BlueRen later on ... he drove all the way down from Milwaukee!

I've checked the Hot Wheels web site, they don't have one.....yet. I have a Hot Wheels type car made Jada Toys. It's approx. 1/48 scale. The car is all riced out with wings, reverse lettering, etc.

The next nearest drive-in is in Aurora. That would work for Red. All the North and N/W side ones have closed. It was a suggestion for something we could do with the cars.

It's business casual but still a little dressier than some business casual places. For example, you can't wear khakies or polo shirts.

Here at BP the dress code includes khakies and polo shirts. We also have what is called 9/80 policy. This means you work Mon-Thu 9hr/day, one Fri is a 8hr/day and you get the other one off. You don't get to pick your fridays, you get your schedule day off.

I'm not sure which one you are referring to. I wear several hats. On sunny days, I wear a "outback" or a mil boonie hat. There are about 4 baseball style hats that I switch between, depending on my mood.

I'm a big fan of my Fernando Alonso hat, thats my favorite of the moment.

Grattan was awesome. I was only passed by 2 cars during my last 4 sessions on the track (about 2 hours). I did a good job of representing for the RX-8 crowd.

Hey all!! JB just informed me that an S2000 meet will be happening in Schaumburg tonight too! This will be lots of fun and hopefully our biggest turnout yet! Heck, I'm even trying to work making cookies into my schedule today to bring tonight!!!

If you have even the slightest interest in coming to a meet, make this one the one! Let's see how many 8s we can get in one spot. btw, schaumburg is a huge area for car meets too, so I'm sure we'll see a lot of other nice (and mebbe even rice) cars. ;)

I understand that and know all about it, but I can't make the meets. That's why I am asking if anyone is interested on meeting up this wendsday. Anyone?

I think we need to rotate the day of the week (Tue-Wed-Thu) we have these meets to keep as many members as possible involved.
Personally, I only want to attend one per weekday. Twice a week is too much.

we can meet any day you want.... there are no rules here. all i ask is if you want it posted in this thread, just come up with a day/time/place and ill be happy to post it. this way people can choose which meets they want to go to based on their own schedules. you can go to as many/few as you choose! :D and i know its hard for everyone to find times (some work weekends, nights, etc) so the more choices, the better the chance someone else can make it.

that being said, if youd like to set a meet for this wed, just let me know the details and ill be happy to post and/or email. with the weather turning fast, i dont think we have to worry about too many meets ... the day will soon arrive when most of you (bah!) will garage your car for the winter :D

I'm still planning on the Thursday meet, but if everyone wanted to switch it to Wed, that would also work for me.

Cool I am down for a Wednesday meet and QDoba.

I ordered some new wheels today for my RX-8.

They are 18x8s SSR GT2s. They only weigh 16.8 lbs which is pretty good for an 18" rim. The 18" OEMs weigh somewhere around 21-23 lbs each IIRC.

I didn't buy them for looks but I think they look pretty nice too.
