Does anyone else have a problem washing your OEM wheels? No matter how careful I am I always seem to cut my knuckles on the the thin shield behind the brake rotor. That front wheel has a really tight space. Is there a suggested brush or something for doing this job that doesn't require a weekly blood letting?

Get a nice triangular shaped brush, spray with a strong wheel cleaner, rinse. I do it 2 or 3 times a week-takes about 10 minutes

Yeah it sounds stupid, but I went and bought a brand new toilet scrubber brush  that gets exclusively used for inside the wheels. I get no scratches and no more weekly donating to the Rx8 Blood Bank :)

Pick up an inexpensive wheel brush at your local auto parts store. They work fine with a little car wash soap.

Get one of those microfibre mits that you can put on. I use one, and can just wrap around the spoke without banging up my hand.

I use a pressure washer, no cuts no scrubing!!!!Tried that. I have painted calipers and it blows my paint off.

I like the brush and mitt suggestions. I'm stopping by AutoZone on the way home from work. Thanks all!

No more blood sucking wheels! :D

I just wrap my hand in a terry cloth (one layer up, two down). Works good for me.

Just think of your cut knuckles as your weekly sacrifice to keep the RX-8 Gods happy. :)

Good day Silver eight, got my caliper painted too and does not come off with press. washer, what kind of preparation you did on your caliper before painting them!!!!Apparently I prepped 3 of the calipers properly but one is not holding the paint so I guess I didn't clean it off enough. I will next time! ;)

I purchased a new mitt today and will use it for washing my car and move the old mitt to wheel duty!

Mitts are the way to go with these wheels my friend.

The wheels do look great when they are cleaned all the way in!

Washed my baby today and the only blood I lost was from swarms of misquotes! Ever slapped yourself with a freshly dipped soapy washing mitt? :o

Geez, that'd be a real sight... too funny.

I guess they were really getting to you! I like to detail the rims in the early morning before all the bugs and heat come out!
