I was just wondering why it is taking such a long time for the rx8's to get to the midwest. I live in KC and my dealership called last friday to tell me it was on the road, however it is not yet here.

KC has the benefit of being one of the inland ports. You'll get your car faster than anyone in the Midwest ... I'd bank on tomorrow or Friday.

And it's coming in by rail, not truck.

I've been wondering the same thing. What the hell is taking so damn long????!!!

They got ONE in today at the dealership where I bought mine....but it was not a pre-order car.

They had a buyer already (not a pre-order) for that car, but tried to sell it to him at $2500 over MSRP and he told them to forget it.

I am getting my 8 from DesMoines. Does that mean that it needs to go thru KC first? Just wondering!!
Thanks for any help in that my dealership hasn't been very helpful in giving me a time frame. According to Infubar my car was on the first boat to Tacoma and my dealer states August delivery!!!!!!!

Thing is, it probably WAS a pre-order car, but Bommarito made the choice to not offer it as a pre-order. Instead keeping it to put on the showroom floor.

That's totally up to them, Mazda has no say in what they do with their inventory. But we as consumers have the say on what dealers we chose to deal with. As I posted on rx7club.com in the thread about this, I plan on reporting this price gouging straight to my contacts in Mazda. There's nothing Mazda can really do other than stop giving them the perks in the future. Enough complaints and Mazda can do things like take away their Mazdaspeed certification, give them let allocation for future pre-orders, etc.

If KC is a port why isn't it listed like Midlothian or Woodhaven on the order info? I am in Nebraska and my info says that Tacoma is both ports. I am going to try another call to Mazda tomorrow might have to see if it is possible to just take delivery at Tacoma and drive it here myself. My dealer got a transport of 6's from KC but my 8 was not on it

That is nothing... Here in Vancouver, WA they have the car on the lot listed with $3900 dealer upcharge.

I feel sorry for the idiot that pays that for this car and tries to unload it in a couple of years and is extremely upside down on his trade in.
