My seat fabric on the driver's side is starting to wear from the seat belt. It is right on the seam. I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem. Thanks.

 

yeah there were some threads right after the car came out abotu this. i found that its because of the edge of the seat belt rubbing there. if the flat side ran across there it wouldnt be a problem. it looks like the seat belt is sort of twisted but there is no way to untwist it and flatten it out- that i have found.

 

Sorry, should of done a search. My dealer was replacing the fabric. Didn't know if it was common. Thanks though.

You would of thought that the engineer would of taken that into account. Damn engineers.

 

nonono wasnt geting on you for the question- you probably couldnt find that thread now. man might be nice to get new fabric onthe seat but my car is 2 years old now- think they would do that for "wear" damage? if i point out th eproblem.

 

That's what I ran into. My car is a 04 that I took delivery of 2 years this october. The car is in the shop right now to have to fabric replaced. They had to send it to upolstry shop. It's not like you were abusing the car. And it should be considered part of normal wear and tear.
