Hey all, I just bought an Escort X50 and I'd like to hardwire it -- preferably using the kit with the smartcord. I don't have a problem connecting to power or ground, but I'd like to know if anyone has a good idea on where to mount the smartcord in the RX-8, if getting power from the fuse box. From what I could find, Oranje's thread was the only one that had step-by-step instructions about hardwiring with the smartcord; unfortunately, all the pictures are gone and it seems like he had more of an involved install than what I'm going to do. I didn't order the kit yet, because if I can't decide where to mount the smartcord, I'll just get the cheaper direct wire kit.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

That is extremely well done. However, I have the cassette player in that spot, so there's no room unfortunately. I ordered the direct wire smartcord and I'm sure I'll find a good spot once I have it in hand.
