DSC/TC and ABS disabled. Running rich? What do you guys think?
BTW there was a guy with all Mazdaspeed loaded RX8 - body kit, wheels, full suspension, light flywheel etc. Also he has front and rear drilled/slotted rotors, Greedy exhaust, RB intake, UR pulleys, voltage stabilizer, optima battery, ground kit, oil catch tank and who knows what else.
He made 192 WHP and 128 torque. He was very disappointed. He was telling the mechanic to start looking for a 20B engine for his RX8 aiming at 700 WHP

WHat flash are you running?

Seeing mph I think should be 4th. I was watching the display all the time. The first run was at 3th 172 whp or something.
I don't know what flash it is. I got the car 40 days ago, build 9/04.

You're probably on an older flash that runs rich. They may all run rich but i think subsequent flashes are leaner than 12:1

You are right I guess. Now I have to think of a way to get the dealer to flash it. Or wait for the recall I keep hearing of?

175 whp is pretty much average. I have seen anywhere from 170 whp to 190 whp is about average. I dynoed at 179 whp before the mods. 192 whp is not bad considering half the stuff the guy has on his car is useless.

BTW is this the dyno you all call it a mustang dyno - wheels removed and dyno bolted to the hubs? If it is what is wrong with it?

^ Is that what people call chassis dyno? Mustang Dyno is the brand name/maker of the dyno platform. Yours is Dynapack (?), and with our 170+ HP, I would guess that it reads like a Dynojet not a Mustang Dyno. An RX-8 on a Mustang dyno would get around 140 - 160 HP.

hey I was on this dyno day with the black RX-7 (I made another dyno thread on the general automotive forum) are you the guy with the red RX-8?

That's me. Whit the stock red one. I remember you. Nice dyno runs for for that nice car. What the other guy with the red RX7 did?

Now I know what the mustang dyno is ;) .

The Dynapack reads like a Dynojet, I did some searching and found a few comparisons that proved it. The difference is less than 2%, the advantage of the Dynapack is that it's a brake dyno and can vary the load, hold the car at a certain rpm and trhottle position, etc, very useful for tuning.

The other RX-7 was found to have a secondary turbo problem, it wasn't coming online. It made about 180whp on the primary at about 4400 rpm and then fell on its face. :(
