I e-mailed a local dealership and got this reply:
WE HAVE ABOUT 7 TO 12 RX8 COMING IN ABOUT 1 1/2 TO 2 WEEKS (sooooo that's how long it will take I guess).

 

Sweet, I just talked to this dealer, they seem to KNOW something!

Said he could get me like 7.5% lease rate, probably buy out my current car. They are motivated to sell, sell sell!

 

What an Ottawa dealer that actually knows something,OK Wing, spill the beans!!!:p Who are they?

At 7.5%, it's not bad much better then the ludicrous 9.1% posted on Mazda's site. I'm still considering financing on my line of credit (prime +1).

 

I sent you a PM mac. And Royal bank actually has 7.05% for buy-back on 48 months with a residual of $15K. VERY low residual, but I guess you only do the buyback if you want to buy.

The dealer said they can do that as well.

The Royal Buy back is intriguing, I've asked my accountant to look into it to see if it is considered a lease or financing if the company buys it. I might get an even lower rate (my great credit rating must be worth something The low residual might could play into my favour (ie the company leases the car, but I buy it out at the end of term). This works great with a real lease but since this is really financing with a balloon payment it may not work for me.
