Ok, here is a question that is bound to spark some debate. I love magazine comparisons of a group of cars in the same category. For example, the recent comparisons of sport sedans that R&T, C&D, and countless others did when the G35 came out.

So here is the question: When the RX-8 comes out, what do you think it will be compared to in such a comparison test? Sport sedans? Sport cars? 2-seaters? 4-seaters? Better yet, just for some fun, name the cars that will be in the test.

(This is a tough question. I can't think of anything that is directly comparable, but I guess thats where the debate lies.)

Remember, just because you think the 8 will be compared to a certain car, doesn't mean you're considering that other car over the 8. For example, I think comparisons will be made between the 8 and the G35 coupe, but I'd never buy the latter.

Hmm.. I'd say G35, Z350, S2000, WRX. Maybe a 3 series BMW, IS300. Basically anything in the similar price range/performance... I guess the closest "calssification" would be a sports coupe? Like I said in the other thread, the RX-8 is really in it's own market.

That sounds like a pretty good shootout but just for a little more fun I would throw in a carrera just to show bang for the buck value of the other cars in the test because I suspect there will be only a few places the porsche will outshine if any. It would also draw a lot of attention because people will start talking abot how these japanese cars are taking on the benchmark set for sports car performance, and I would find it pretty amusing if they threw in a boxster to get slaughtered while they were at it also.:D

Due to the fact that they're both "new", I expect the 8 and the z to get alot of "comparos". I would also expect the 8 to be put up against the likes of Integras, and other Honda "sports sedans".
