New falken615 no good..?

ive had the new falkens for aobut 4 days and i went for a spirited driving session with my friends through the canyon....i have come to decidde that they were not as good as expected...the sidewall was not as stiff as the old falken and the grip was not as expected...the tire actually started breaking littile chunks off the outside line blocks...maybe i got a defective tire...overall..i dont like the tires .. i also dont wanna say that they are worse than others..probably on the better side.. ps2 and kuhmo mx are tires id op for better for the money..last longer and has almost as much grip if not about the same.....if you read this sam...you wanna buy them off me??...they still look new...

probably didn't have enough air pressure

I'd choose the Hankook R-S2 myself

I have the 451's and they are good, I suggest you either have a defective tire or like TeamRX8 said U don't have enough preassure. Anyway go or call Falken and they'll respond for sure.

Well I work at Just Tires, I'm sure I have the right amount of pressure in the tires. Honestly these are pretty shitty tires, I don't suggest them to anyone that wants pure performance tires. I guess they're good for just tires that look nice to run on the street that don't wear fast. They look a lot more aggressive than they perform.

Interesting....I took my week old RT-615's to the track and they seemed so much more sticky in the turns compared to the bridgeSTONES. perhaps you never got yours heated up to good working temp??

I measured mine at 165F center tread after 20 min of workout on a twisty 1.3 mile session, and they worked and felt like the psuedo-R compound tires they are, all soft, sticky, predictable, and easily modulated. I liked them a lot... and I smoked most everyone in the group I was in (damn supercharged Porsche 968:p )

Maybe try yours again under more controlled conditions? or maybe you got a bad one? I did note that I had to keep reducing the pressure for best results compared to the brifdgeSTONES, and ended up with 34 lbs for best temp accross the tread (size 235/40-18 w/stock wheels).

maybe ill try that..i never got the tire temp that high on any tires ive had...most i get is around 142 on ouside of tire and 140 inner and 135 36 inner...stock camber so ouside gets eatin up faster.....my pressure was set at 32 front and 31 rear and they jumped to 36 rear and 39 front.....after the run..i didnt exactly drive for 20 mins straighet tho either...maybe need to drive on them harder...i dont take them as more of a comp tire but as a street tire......well time to test them some more...thanks for the info though....time to play around with the air and longtivity of the run...my tires also may soak up more heat becasue its a tad bit wider also...more i use them the better they get suppose....

I run the 615's at 40psi on all four. with the exception of the fact that they must be rotated about every 3 to 5 thousand miles these are the best tires I have ever owned and far excced the old azenus sport 215's.
