19 inch Rim dent?

i'm thinking of adding rims to my 8 but a little worried about putting on 19's. I live in NYC and potholes here get CRAZY. My previous car was civic with 17's on it. One of my rim has a dent =(. just wanted to know if the tires around 19's would be as thin as the tires are on 17's.

Dont do it stick with 18's and buy rims. I was up there for a week it was hell and I will never bring my car there ever.

^ What she said. Last time I drove in the city it was in a rental car, and I was scared I would break something. I'm used to western PA roads, so I thought I knew potholes. I was wrong.

If you're getting new 18" rims and don't want them to look too small, stay away from anything with a bright painted or polished lip. Mine are like that, and I like the look, but if you're thinking about 19's, it's probably not what you're looking for.

Don't be afraid :p I've only popped once in like 8 years when I had my 18" (205/40-18) on my accord, because the stupid belt pkwy was messed up after a big snowstorn. Even with the 8 I've had no problems *knock on wood*, and I do LOTS of city (from 2nd ave, chinatown, bklyn, queens, west side, you name it). The main thing is to know how/when to avoid. And if all don't work, brake hard and pray it didn't pop *whistle*.

had the exact setup before, the ride is not worse than the stock setup, but the 8 will look taller.
i wouldnt call them tyres.... they are more like rubber bands :D

I actually lower the car with Tanaube springs when I put the rims on, and the tires aren't that small.... The ride feels good, almost like stock, but traction is better.... the rims are actually lighter weight then stocks too.....
