I know that for some of y’all this is sacrilege, but just think for a moment. What if we were able to drop an LS7 (http://www.gmpartsdepot.com/store/product1.aspx?SID=2&Product_ID=1412&Category_ID=2&src=gglls7) engine into a RX8? How cool would that be, a N/A engine putting down 500hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, while getting better mileage than our RX8. :eek: Can anyone comment now how difficult this would be? I mean I have no idea where the rotary has its engine mounts? The LS engines are small block V8, so this might mess with the 50/50 weight distribution, but not sure by how much? We could also swap in the Corvette tranny. How much fabrication and how much money would project cost?

Don’t get me wrong I love the RX8 and would be even happier if only it had a little more umpf. I don’t think that FI is way for me. Anyway, thanks for letting me dream a little.

Nope, I will give you two examples. Here is an RX7 with a LS engine conversion (http://www.msrecycling.com/94_fd_rx7.htm) . Shoot even Miata can handle small block V8 (http://www.highwayone.com/Classifieds/Mazda/01aaai.html) , they are known as Monster Miatas :D
